I was thinking that after Ray's response (http://blog.bioware....012/03/21/4108/) and Hudson's response last week - the InDoc Theory (as much as I support it) - was probably not planned afterall.

I believe that if the InDoc theory will appear in a future DLC - it is probably due to community feedback - rather than original intend.

Hey if I had a game with an ending where everyone complains, and a lot of people see hints about how to continue the series: If that wasn't my original intention and I wanted to make changes - why not incorporate something that seems to resonate with a lot of people.

Sure - this whole thing still could have been planned - I supported that stance for as long as I could - but after seeing two official responses from BioWare - none of which discussed that it was their original intend to continue the series - it seems a bit unlikely that the InDoc theory was planned.

Or let me put it in other words: If anything of the InDoc theory is correct - as I've already stated in another thread: I don't see why BioWare drops more hints about it - given the huge controversy that sparked - with EA even accepting refunds of the game.

So to summarize: Sure the InDoc theory might still happen - but reading Ray's announcement it doesn't seem like it was their original intention.

Thoughts?

Yes, they basically confirmed with their reactions that it was not planned after all.

If they fix the ending, I hope they really jump onto the indoctrination theory.
It would solve most of the problems they had, without even writer-work involved AND it would guarantee great fan-feedback (haven't seen many protest against the theory).

Nevermind. Just go with the indoc. theory. :) It would be the key to turn crap endings into brilliant ones.

They'll probably go with the indoc theory which I'll be just fine with. I just want a decent end for my Shepard. If they make me pay for it, it'll be the last product I buy from Bioware.

Personally, Mark Meer's comments say the most about it. Re: the fact no DLC work had been done yet. If it was planned, I'd suspect voicework to have been by now.

So, then, the indoctrination theory was an indoctrination here? Or... Eh. Who is indoctrinated now?

By the way, it was more like a conspiracy theory.

Just when I thought the Indoctrination Theory fans would stop with this bull****...

Just stop already. The Indoctrination Theory is just as bad as the current endings. Just let them offer an explanation of the current endings and be done with this.

Again, it does not disprove the indoc theory any more than Hudson's earlier response did (i.e. it doesn't). If their plan was to announce it in April on PAX (one month from the first release date, makes sense), they're simply sticking to it and doing their best to keep the player base calm (relatively speaking).

"Building on their research, Exec Producer Casey Hudson and the team are hard at work on a number of game content initiatives that will help answer the questions, providing more clarity for those seeking further closure to their journey. You’ll hear more on this in April.

Trust that we are doing our damndest, as always, to address your feedback."

- those are the key words in the whole message.

So if you WANT to believe in the theory, there is no less reason for you to continue than before.

I think the sheer fact that the indoctrination ending is a viable ending supported by the actual ending game play is telling. If indeed they didn't intend for Shepard to be under some effects of indoctrination, it's just all the more telling of the sloppy work that went into the ending. It left so much room for interpretation that an ending they didn't intend to put in there makes more sense than the one they gave us.

Indoctrination theory was never the correct ending to begin with. And they'll never pick it up and start working on it.

It makes me really sad that they really thought that the end was enough. I mean, come on! Its insulting. KOTOR, Jade Empire, DA:O, I mean this guys already made great endings, they know how to end a story....for god's sake.

Now indoc is most likely wrong that means the ending was even worse than it looked at first, because they completely accidentally slipped in a dozen clues it was fake in an otherwise well written and designed game.

And DESTRAUDO, does it make you feel like a big man to randomly insult strangers on the internet?

It is probably that they didnt expect people pick details in manner that led to Indoc Theory...still Bioware claimed they were trying incoporate Indoctrination of Shepard ... it is possible. They are not going release details because it will affect overall look of Bioware
