He's been harsher sure, but like he said, he only had 4 days to finish the game and the review, so I think he was trying to be fair. "It could've been worse..." Rofl. <3

Most of it could be summed up by saying "I don't like Third Person Shooters". Other than that the only real points were that he missed the Mako, and the ending sucked.

It felt kind of like this one was phoned in to me.

Agreed, which is somewhat disappointing because most of the time he actually has really good points...

I still think his best one is the Wolfenstine review. But to be fair, it's pretty impossible to top that one. That one's just awesome!

Yatzee just had to get in the snide comment at the end though (pause it at 5:10)...

"Is it possible you're dissatisfied with the ending simply because it *was* ending, fanboys"

Kinda sums up my feelings about the end game of the trilogy as a whole: It could have been worse. I like the ending but I greatly dislike other stuff ( like TIM and Coup )

Yahtzee was never a massive fan of ME though. He liked it but not all the way.

He was someone who appreciated it more than liked, iirc.

It's a bit too serious and involved for his tastes.  That's not an insult or anything, and anyone who is a fan of games like Painkiller and No More Heroes deserves to be lauded, it's just not his style.  And to a certain extent his criticisms of many games like the ME series are valid in that they end up getting crushed under the weight of their own self-importance.

He also doesn't like RTSs much, but he recognizes that it's just a personal taste thing and doesn't really begrudge people for liking them (except that one time he was basically forced to review Halo Wars, because people told him it was the RTS for people who don't like/aren't experienced at RTSs, and at some point realized that meant that it was just a lousy RTS).  OTOH he doesn't really miss an opportunity to make fun of JRPGs.  :P

In any case, I agree with him probably 90% of the time, because I have the same tastes.  For the longest time I was wondering why all my friends were into Resident Evil when Silent Hill (especially the second one) was clearly so much better, and viola, along comes a reviewer saying exactly what I was thinking.  I also hate Dead Space for the same reasons as him.

Way underwhelming. He's ripped apart games a lot worse for a lot less. I'm disappointed.

I guess he's not trying to feed into the controversy too much. I doubt someone like Yahtzee would be pleased with becoming a War Asset  xD
