Try turning off your security app during the installation.
If you still have the same problem, you might need to download again. The most probable cause for corrupted files from a big download is your security app. Just to be safe, have it configured to leave the EADM alone during download (there's either an exclusion list or trusted zone).
This happened to me over a year ago with Mass Effect and I had to download it all over again, but with my security app properly tamed that second time.

I have the DVD version, and the game keeps failing to install.
if the game has online securom, it could be the failsafe on the disc preventing you from installing the game until release. borderlands had this DRM on it, so you had to wait until the activation servers were restarted before any legitimate players could get online.
if it's regular pain in the ass securom, it's probably a system issue.
have you installed any new games recently? if so, rerun them, see if something's changed on your system.
you might have a firewall/AV app, or a virtual CDROM drive, or USB hardware, debugging apps, an open browser window, etc. etc. that doesn't play nice with securom/safedisc copy protection DRM.
there's tons of websites on how to get past DRM the nice way, ie. killing everything on your system that the DRM doesn't like, or the nasty way, i.e. hacks and cracked apps and reg files, patched files, etc.

Those that have the DVD check the other side of the disc if its dirty and what not clean it then try it agian.
There is no DRM its only basic disc check.

My CE version errored off on install - with not enough permissions to create the Dragon Age folder (express and custom install both failed) and the installing account had full Admin privileges (Win XP).
My solution was to create a C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age folder myself, then run the installer. Installing fine as I type.

I have the same problem - "Installation failed" during different times of the install process.
I'm trying to copy the contents of the DVD to the harddisk now and install from there - hope that helps.
No AV or other software running besides a clean Win7/64 install...

I tried cleaning the disk after the second fail and still nada so it's not that. Everything else is up to date; drivers, windows xp packs and so on.

I have the same issue too. The only stupid thing is that it would install on my old backup computer that has no power at all, but it won't install on my high performance gaming rig. It crashes at random times, sometimes in the extraction for the campaigns, sometimes earlier, sometimes later in the voiceovers. It's really annoying, I've probably tried to install it 25 times so far. It hasn't worked.
Would love some help here from Bioware.

I'm having the same problem as Tythais, althoug I suspect it is my cd drive responsible rather than the disc... is there somewhere to download the game or is that only through a purchase with EA? I don't really want to buy it again; does my cd key do any good anywhere for a download?? >_<

It might be related to PhysX. On this post here: http://social.biowar...c/9/index/77979
they discuss downloading and installing the nvidia physX drivers as fixing the problem.

I've had this Installaition error on 3 different copies of DAO. I've tried about every fix, on every forum for about 4 days now. Nothing works.
