Some news is good news! They're beginning to show some interest in us, so lets keep pushing politely for an amazing ending to an amazing game.

Fully agree. This is a huge first step. We need to accept it for what it is and continue providing polite requests and feedback. It took a lot of guts for Dr. Muzyka to come out with that letter, and I for one appreciate it very much.

I am glad that they finally respond to the fans, but we still have no idea what they are going to do to fix the ending. I guess we shall wait and see.

I respect that 100%, just not sure if they get it right. I want closure, a picture of the future. I want to see what I was fighting for. And by that I don't mean the Normandy stranded on a paradise planet or an old fart telling stories to kids. I want to know what happened to everyone.

I don't really see how it's a concession. All they have done is acknowledged more directly that fans are upset. But just like Casey did, they make sure to counter it by saying Critics and Journalists like it, therefore a lot of people liked the ending.

But for those passionate fans, we will consider adding DLC ending related content.

It really says nothing. And in fact, he comes out defending the terrible endings as art. Completely ignoring the fact that fans (as consumers) feel cheated by the promises that were made, but broken. He doesn't acknowledge this.

All he does is say: look, we know there are some passionate fans out there that feel let down. But the ending was artsy as **** mmk. Like I'm so proud of it, and the work we did. We did great work. But for those fans that didn't like it, we MIGHT make some ending related DLC.

And even with that said, it seems that the ending related DLC would just expand on the terrible idea or try to explain the terrible idea. And that is not at all what fans want. In fact, I think BioWare completely misunderstands what fans want. I don't even think they know fans aren't upset becuase the ending sucked. They are upset that the endings had nothing to do with our choices, and we were boxed in to the choices. That we really didn't get 16 endings. That it came down to an A,B,C, ending. That it oh **** it.

I think we should just wait and see what happens. Its too early in the game to be pullin out our six shooters. Lets just see what happens in April

Seriously, we have fought too hard to cop-out now.

Be like Shepard. Offer one hand, but arm the other.

I personally see this new response by Bioware co-founder as more PR. They are still defending the ending, trying to label the people that dislike it as the minority, when every poll either here or on other sites say otherwise. There is also a great disconnect with reviews of the game, big magazines and sites that do a lot of advertising or in IGN case they had one of their own in the game. They give the game great reviews, even though they have a conflict of interest, and smaller but more honest reviewers of the game echo our dislike of not only the endings but how the endings reflect on the series lore itself.

All I got out of the Co-founder speech was PR damage control, defense of the ending and of the staff, trying to make the people that disliked the ending as a minority, and watch out we are answering questions in DLC so get out your wallets.

If the game is so good, and we are so few. Why does he say anything at all. It boils down to this they are realizing that they can’t sweep this under the rug like they did DA2. DA2 had supposed critical acclaim, but the user score of the game was very low. I think it comes down to this sites and magazines that Bioware and EA pay big advertising too always seem to rate the games favorable, Smaller reviewers, and user score their games Honestly.

I'm still watching over full of cynicism.

Until we actually see this DLC, I can't accept this as a "win".

It doesn't feel genuine. That's just how I see it. It's their responsibility to admit their mistakes of false advertisement. Now they released a statement that says, "I'm sorry you didn't like the ending. I'll just throw you a few options to shut you up, so you won't screw up sales." What did they expect? A parade?

Bottom line, don't expect me to praise you for your attempts on atonement. I'll take what you are giving me for now but don't expect any change of attitude from me towards the company.

I would be satisfied with just a 4th option, it's not that much...

I'm disappointed by the response to the blog too. Kept thinking "you know, despite what the press and the statement insinuate, people are being quite civil about all this".

Then I came here and... well, you know. Bioware could have ignored everything, but they didn't. They chose to come forward and admit they're doing something about all this.

I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt here, but getting hostile about this whole affair is not the way to go

I'm actually, massively disappointed by this response. To me it seems like no one is going to get what they want.

Well even if they said 'we do what you want us to do' you could see it as PR. If you're going to be stubborn about it then I guess there is nothing Bioware can do.

I agree.

But that's not what's going to happen.
No matter what BioWare ultimately does people are going to still be pissed off that it wasn't exactly what they personally wanted done.

Some people want Indoctrination Theory
Some people want a Bittersweet Ending (done right)
Some people want a super happy ending where they retire and run a Bed & Breakfast with Garrus
Some people want a complete rewrite
Etc.

And regardless of what they do everyone who didn't get exactly what they wanted is going to continue to ****** and moan about it.

You can already see it happening with the reaction to Ray's statement.

any one remember when ME2 came out, and there were some complaints because you no longer had the mako missions, they released the fire walker dlc - they do listen, you just have to be NICE about it :D

Cautiously optimistic (which is a very big step in my case) but this could still mean a lot of different things.

Until I get hard evidence I will continue to Hold the line.

OP is right.
And i think this concession is that small. It's not what some of the movement wanted (That Bioware bows to their will. lol) But Bioware shows that they care about our issues with the ending. A reason to give Bioware some trust.

We REALLY should appreciate this, there is a lot of media pieces out there ruined by an awful ending that never got a fix, no matter the fuss. BioWare respect us enough to consider compromising their artistic integrity because we ask them to.
Independently from the endin's quality, so we should respect them as well.

We should not stop constructively voicing our opinions and feedback, but to me this was a very, very large victory.

Op is wrong, because BioWare still fails to acknowledge why fans are actually upset (the broken promises) and continue to belittle their fan base.
