Pretty much what the topic says. I imported a lvl 30 save but the maximum level I achieved was 58 or 59. I was fairly certain that I did every possible mission in the game and discovered 100% of the galaxy.

Did you use medi-gel? If your full on medi-gel, you get xp when you pick up more. I think anywhere from 150 to 300 xp.

Is the xp the same for every level or does it increase as you get higher? I went from 1 to 48 in my first run.

I know I didn't, but just import the ME3 save and go from there.

I also got to 56. Did absolutely everything, rarely used medi-gel, so I think it's safe to say that it is not possible.

At least, until more DLC comes out.

Not sure how it's a problem, you couldn't reach level 60 in one playthrough in ME1 either

Do every side mission, never use medigel, pick up every medigel you see, play on insanity, and import a lvl 30 character. I did it and got to lvl 60 no problem.

I got to 59, after I beat it, I ended up getting the achievement for hitting 60, so I guess it's possible.

I used a medi-gel maybe once or twice with a Level 30 Mass Effect 2 import and managed to hit Level 60 either during the assault on Ceburus base or London.

I -literally- just beat the game, and I was at level 60. This is my first try with a ME1 > ME2 > ME3 Import Save. So, yes... it can be done. Just use less Medi-Gel for better XP bonuses throughout the game. I reached the max level on the final push.

I swear I did everything with my 1st Shepard and got to 56 (from 30). Can't believe I missed enough stuff to lose 4 lvls, that's huge! Can it be a difficulty thing? I play normal.

I hit 60 on my first playthrough as I finished the game. Didnt on my second go though. I think difficulty might effect experience awards, as I played on insanity the first time and normal the second.

I think I got to 58 on a lvl 30 import. Did everything in game as far as I can tell. Normal difficulty. Not sure if difficulty has ever affected exp gains though (Mako kills aside)

I played my first game on insanity and during the latter parts of the game, I just had to use medi-gel, even spam them sometimes.

I got to 56 or 57 or close to that. I don't think difficult affects XP gains. Then again, being level 60 means you have like, 7 abilities at max rank; it's not like it's really neccesary to hit 60 to win, even on Insanity

Both of my ME2 imports were level 31 I believe, and I made it to level 58 or 59. Normal difficulty, and taking care of just about everything. A few of the planet-scanning sidequests from the Citadel grant exp instead of war assets (or maybe both and I didn't see the other notification).

On my first run I imported a lvl 28 and managed to hit 59 by the end. So you should be able to hit 60 with a lvl 30 import.

I've played on insane and I've achieved 60. with no problem. The fact is I've never used medi-gel and collected everything what's possible. Btw. the game is so easy on insanity that I barely never had to use cover so I don't understand the sense of playing it on easy, normal, hard or hardcore and the same for other Bioware games.

I'm just curious but which class were you playing as and what was your general tactic in combat? To have little use for cover I'd imagine you had to be able to kill/CC the enemies relatively quick given how fast concentrated fire can tear down the players shields/health even with damage reduction skills like Defense Matrix.

there are a few spots in the game where you can get more exp. In the beginning before youre picked up by the normandy you have waves of enemies till you run out of ammo. if you use powers and don't get low on ammo it goes on for quite a while before the game gives up and joker comes in.

on the krogan homeworld the brutes spawn forever till you hit the gong things.

At the final push area when the shuttle comes to pick you up and you have to run, not sure how long the enemies will continue to spawn but imsure its a while.

The part when you can finally activate the second missile launcher can be longer if you don't activate right away.

These areas plus, extra medigels, and difficulty is probably what accounts for the range in levels at the end.
