Its gonna be hilarious when we have to pay for it.

I don't find the funny part in that.

Would this be funny then?

I would not mind one bit paying for the DLC. DLC requires hours of work and computer ressources, and that is not cheap. I do not wish BioWare to be financially challenged regarding the DLC.
If they know they can have some of their expenses covered by DLC income they are more likely to make the DLC in the first place.

Holding the line.

No, they're not working on a new ending DLC.

I doubt it. As I said in the Ray Muzyka thread, the more likely case is they're simply making middle-of-the-game DLC to explain the plot-holes and offer some measure of clarity to the players. They said they want to keep the 'artistic integrity' intact, which, to me, sounds like they rather keep the ending as is. That said, if that's the case, I won't be purchasing any of the DLC.

@OP:

I hate to burst your bubble... but they havent promised an ending DLC. They have hinted at one in the very vaguest possible terms. So Im not getting my hopes up.

Besides... again. Even their Twitter denies a significant alteration of the game.

They don't have to alter anything though, that's the thing with good writing.

But I wouldn't be surprised if they just threw out a slide show with text either.

Whatever they release, it'll either be great or terrible. At this point, there isn't any middle ground, so expect both.

Well yeah, I'd pay for it. It left me so drained I haven't played ANY videogames since. I just never feel up to it any more. So I'd be willing to pay just to get the taste of bad ending out of my mouth. Whether I buy anything after that is highly dependent on how much it is, how good it is, and how sincere I believe them to be about it.

We got what we wanted in a new ending, BioWare listened, but the compromising part is that we have to pay for it.

You're missing the point, we dont want a new ending for the game people want proper closure to the game. What was that last breath about?  What happened to everyone after?

My complaint has nothing to do with the cost of DLC.

I have repeatedly stated that imo the alt ending DLC should cost money.

I made a thread explaining why DLC, any DLC can't be free.

MY COMPLAINT is that Bioware isn't making a new ending/alt ending DLC. They are looking at restoring old content, patching a few files or tweaking a few things to expand on the current ending.

IF the original ending was in its full expanded form when ME 3 was released MAYBE that would be enough to satisfy.

But Bioware is doing this in order to satisfy their fans. They say their listening to the fanbase. Taking suggestions. The fan base doesn't want the original made better. They want it sawed off from the ME franchise with laser precision.

So just giving us a better version of the original ending isn't enough. If you release a DLC that is supposed to make everything better then it needs to have more choice, more closure, more fallout from our decisions. Just MORE.

Try harder Bioware. Try much harder.

Considering you have no games registered with the account, I'm not sure they'll need a brush the clean up all the tears they shed. :)

As for the discussion. Yes, I think the endings should remain as they are, maybe with minor alteration.
They, the events could be explained a bit more though, that's what causes most of the problems here.

-Im not missing the point. Ill be fine with an elaboration on what we have and then an epilogue. However anyone thinking we are getting an Ending DLC should try to get their hopes down. And alot of people still have that hope.

If you have to release additional content to explain what your game is about, then you're doing something wrong. I won't be buying any DLC from them. Full stop.

Their "changes" however significant it may be which will probably just be some clarification will most likely be thrown in with the take back Omega DLC that we all know is coming. That way it can be around $15 and there won't be too much uproar.

Hey guys, one thing I want to stress is to not make any assumptions until we are able to give you more information. Right now, anything about free vs paid is speculation only. I think most of you get that, but just want to stress it.

More closure would be nice.  But a new ending that is not filled with utter nonsense is a large part of what many are asking for.

I'm going to use my super powers to gaze into the future and predict it's going to be 'paid'.

That's not neccessarly fair to say.  I own ME1, 2, 3, and DA2 along with SWTOR but none are registered to my account here.  I am no less knowledgeable then anyone with icons under their name.  But I don't think it's very smart to write off a company that has shown it holds a lot of promise in the video game nitche.  It'd be like swearing off BMW because well the tires on your car weren't up to your expectations.  (ehh weak analogy my bad, it's almost the end of the work day, I'm brain fried)

I do not trust you.
Delete your thread on the multiplayer thing and then I might.

I would have liked, more than anything, few good endings. Not necessarily happy ones, but ones of quality and lasting appeal, something to look back fondly upon as a fitting conclusion.

What the BW plans seem to be are adding content to validate the preexisting ending as opposed to correcting any issues made apparent by the fanbase. Clarifying elements of the bad ending doesn't make it a good one.

As this message is more vague than anything I can think of right now, I'll wait. I still refuse to play ME3 but I'm still holding the line, I guess.

Any additional content that affects the ending should be free if it's in DLC format....
