Am I the only one who does not like the ammo types for vanguard?
I think it would fit the class better if I had another biotic move instead. Something like throw.
Charge in stun everyone around the target shot a guy then throw another. I don't just seems more up close and personal to me.
I know nova is supposed to be another biotic move, but I hate using it. It's not worth losing your barrier just to knock over the guys closest to you. Especially when playing on Insanity where a random Ravager is going to one shot you without barriers.
Just my two cents.

I love the ammo types. They are really the only 2 you ever need. Cryo is killer CC and Incendiary eats armor like candy. Toss in a Particle Rifle and it's game over.

I always figured if I wanted ammo types I'd play a soldier. The game calls a vanguard a biotic/combat so I can't really say the ammo types don't belong.
I think that in the beginning you should be able to pick whether you are more biotic or more combat oriented. It would give people a wider range of class choices.
You could potentially do that with all classes that are half and half.

Well the ammo is nice because you can buff you entire party. Your still pretty much set to 1 or 2 guns if you want to use Pull at all. Unlike soldier which would be pretty much based on guns only.

There are 4 Biotic powers and 2 ammo powers available to the Vanguard. I just can't see how this is not leaning toward being "more biotic" than combat oriented....

I've always loved incendiary, all throughout. Really can't live without it. Disruptor comes second simply because of destroying shields, but there is a lot of softies to light on fire, and armor to destroy. Cryo makes sense when combined with biotic charge; squadies with SMGs or ARs and the like freezing your enemies ahead, leaving you to smash into them like the human bowling ball you are.

I loved the 'biotic warrior' ME1 vanguard. I didn't care much for the charge-spam ME2 vanguard, so I just went Adept with an assault rifle.
I tried to remake the ME1 playstyle in my ME3 vanguard. Carnage, pull and shockwave are my most used abilities. I find shockwave to be much improved from ME2 and it's limited range plays well into the CQC/Shotgun style of the vanguard. I mainly use charge as a defensive ability to refill shields. Never touch nova. Sure the charge-focused gameplay is more effective, but insanity is easy enough as is now and I find this style fun.
