I think we should give Bioware a chance now, there's nothing to say if they fob us off we can't start back up again. But we held the line, now it's time to work with them and give constructive feedback.

This is NOT victory. Do not fool yourself. When the DLC can be seen on the market, than you can blow the horn. Until then, get back on the line!

Dr. Muzyka's statement about what they're looking into is nothing more than an Epilogue to the existing ending. So, in 6 months they ask us to pay $10 so that we can see still images with some contextualized comments based on our decisions, but otherwise Space Magic is the only ending we get.

Still holding. We won nothing. They just want us to go away or cool off until April.

It's not over. Don't fool yourself. If you are willing to quit over something as simple as a statement they have already won.

I'm not saying this is PR. But would you take the risk of believing them? I wouldn't.

I will take him at his word for now, but I will reserve judgement until we see this mystery announcement in April.

I want to believe it, but at this point I'm taking everything with a grain of salt. Overall, we know nothing about this planned content, and what it will entail.

Re: thread title

Agreed!

Let them do their thing but, I hope they address 4 things which IMO would make it proper resolution, therefore success:

1- Fill the plot holes and gaps
2- Create closure, not necessarily entirely but where needed
3- Avoid brevity where unwarranted
4- Do what was promised to fans i.e. make the decisions chosen throughout series count in the end, that includes Love-Interest

how is this a victory? did any of you read what it said?
They are happy with the ending, + it does not even really state they are gonna work on the ending just add more content which might give us more of a conclusion...
This is not even close to a victory, the ending was complete **** and pretty much ends the mass effect universe so why are we happy with them keeping it like that?!

We haven't won anything, the day we win, is the day we see them make a Fitting end to their previous games and something concise with the theme of this game. Until then its just PR stuff, they say something to get the increasing amount of disgruntled people to calm down. Give em something to chew on while they wait things out and see if the climate is still hostile. The Day we win is the day we receive a fix. So we will be ramping up the pressure.

Last time we let them do their work... Nevermind.

They asked for further constructive criticism, and we should further provide them with such.

I think some people here on BSN need to realize that it's very likely we won't get a whole new ending. If Bioware really believes in the ending as much as they claim to, whatever we get in terms of a resolution to our frustrations will be limited to additional or follow-up content that attempts to fix the discrepancies about the Normandy crew, where it ended up, what happened to Shepard, your teammates, the Relays, etc. That in itself is going to be a lot of work for graphic artists, designers, animators, coders, and voice actors to undertake, to say nothing of a completely retooled ending. I just don't see Bioware going THAT far for us, especially if they're claiming to have some sort of artistic integrity towards what they originally produced.

This is so frustrating, truly. I'm tired of the PR machine, tired of the slivers of hope that turn out to be misinterpretations of stuff we've already heard (I swear if I read another post about "that new DLC coming up called "The Truth" one more time...). Like everyone else here, I just want ANSWERS, not spin. The RetakeME3 movement has proven quite ably that we're not consumer zombies ready to accept whatever BS is tossed our way; I think it's about time Bioware's PR team pick up on that.

Expanding on a joke doesn't make it any less of a joke. If anything the Retake movement lost, they are building on the original awful endings to explain their space magic.

Yep nothing to see here, move along. Its good to see them post on our concerns but i will not celebrate until i see a DLC which is more than an epilogue i wont to play the whole game through again with the chance of the closure i expected from the trilogy. I except members dying but personally i believe shepards done enough to fly away in to the galaxy through a working gate and go enjoy his retirement...... until he gets called upon for another epic story!

Honestly the only way they can expand on it is ether the indoctronation theory or more space magic.

Now I don't like ether of those choises but one is a little better then the other.

Expanding on the game to give us more closure, is not the same thing as giving us a new ending option. I hope they announce ending dlc, any other dlc will probably get black listed by the fans.

Bioware just gave us another noncommittal PR work around

Psh! we ain't won nothing. The fail team is still on the job and they're going for epilogue instead of rewrite. We don't even know if it'll be free or not.

I smell bull. He basically said that they don't want to change the end so they'll put something else into it. Then they said 'wait until April' to findout what it is.' I think that this is just another PR tactic to give us a shovel full of crap. He also goes on to say that only a few people didn't like the end when most did. unless he is going off of the sale vs upset fan % then he's wrong.

I'm going to HOLD THE LINE!!

You think we won? Where is the clear explanation of the ending? Where is the new varied ending DLC?
All we have is an ambiguous statement that says they are working on something. For all we know it could be a list of in game emails that explain a bunch of non important or non related stuff to make *some* sense of the ending... If that's even possible.

HOLD THE LINE!

Read it carefully.

First, his tone is still defensive. He still claims he wants to protect his "artistic integrity" and he still points at the reviews from the critics as justification for the quality of the game. He does *not* stand up and say "We need to make a satisfying game experience for our customers. We misjudged what they would find satisfying. We are going to change the game to address that problem."

What he does say is that they will add content to provide answers and closure. He is *not* saying that they will provide a more satisfying ending.

This is not a victory. Bioware is still refusing to give their customers what they want.

We ain't won a damn thing just another pr stunt. I've had enough of broken promises and lies. It ends here. We hold the line and fight. No surrender no mercy.
