We've won when they announce the "alternate ending" dlc.

Meanwhile, we'll Hold the Line.

We have won a battle, but I assure you the fight is far from over.

I will hold the line, until visible evidence is revealed of the ending we can all agree on.

We haven't actually won anything, OP. While this is a step in the right direction, Bioware can still sweep us under the rug. I don't think that will happen, but we should always expect the worst.

Also, content to clarify the ending can be as simple as a short Epilogue that only clarifies the galaxy's "Dark Age" state. That is not what we are looking for

Words are not actions. Bioware has lost the ability to receieve the benefit of the doubt in my mind. i will trust a fix when there a pressser about new content being released, not being developed.

I'm not moving an inch until they a) repair the ending or B) tell me it was an artistic vision, in which case I'll move so far away from here that they can count me out as a beep on their profit radar.

I read that and saw we aint changing the ending at all so hush you whiners. What we are doing is going to add a bit of text at the end explaining the ending and how it make sense.

Because they are working with current content to explain the plot holes you can't explain them there is no way unless they break every charcther motives in the last 5 minutes of the game

We'll have won when we have downloaded the DLC that fixes the endings based on actual feedback rather than simplified and twisted wording by Ray and Hudson, and when the fanbase has determined that the endings are now worthy of the franchise. Until then, we have not won anything.

Like may other people on this thread, I remain unconvinced. As I understand it, people aren't asking for an epilogue that explains the current endings in more detail. If I'm honest, I would be rather insulted by that.

I DO understand the current endings, or rather, I understand them enough to have the opinion that Bioware fell short of their intended aim. An epilogue of that nature would do nothing to address my feeling that the whole series has been reduced to one long, three-game, 90-hours-plus exercise in futility.

This is the very thing atghunter warned us about. They're trying to take the teeth out of us. Until we have a definitive statement or timeline we can't let up the pressure. To me it seems like they're trying to placate us with lip service hoping this will die done. There's a reason the battle cry of this movement is "HOLD THE LINE"

Yes thank you.  i am afraid most people are falling for it.  Also all they are talking about is extending the endings we have.  How does that fix the problem that they don't reflect what our Shepards would have done.

Please we winning, read the damage control thread this is just another stage of that I feel like all the work we did is going to be for nothing because everyone is falling for it.  i really thought we smarter then to fall for something like this. please prove me right and don't stop holding the line until we get new endings that give us more options.

Please stick together.  We have almost won If bioware does release DLC that just extends the depressing endings we have please don't buy it,that just means they are desprate and that if we hold out just a little longer we can get ending that reflect our choice please don't let this all be for nothing by falling for spin.
Please check out this group and join in.

What we HAVE won is acknowledgement from the higher ups. First Hudson, and now the co-founder. It means the issue is important enough to harm their revenue stream, both present and future, and they're concerned over the potential ramifications of alienating most of their core playerbase.

What we haven't won is an honest aplology or even admition that the finale is majorly flawed. Not subjectively flawed, there are a host of random speculative themes people like to bring up that apparently explain everything, but objectively. Plot holes, contradictions without explanation, the lack of an epilogue, inconsistencies, taboo literary conventions, these are things that require attention.

This is a whole lot more PR bs though. Citing unreliable reviews, repeatedly referring to the outraged fans with the plural 'some' , saying they're genuinely surprised by this reaction (I mean, seriously? Are you a bunch of literate morons that you couldn't see this coming?), and the insistent importance of artistic integrity and how well the team have done, are some pretty clear indicators of an attempt to limit the damage in the eyes of neutral parties.

Then there's the ambiguity over what they actually mean to do about. Nothing definite, nothing solid, just some assurance that we should wait until April. Wow, if that's not an attempt to defuse the situation I don't know what is.

If people are really giving up so quickly because someone has said something, then we haven't won!

We won't stop putting the pressure on until we see a final, finished result.
The announcement to address our complaints is an attempt to derail us because we are actually making a dent in their defenses now! If all of us gave up, then ALL of this would simply be swept under the rug and we'd be labeled as "those few crazy fans who didn't agree with the majority."

We will Hold The Line until they concede!

Exactly.  I'll believe a fix when I see it.  Until then, I will hold the line.

This is NOT a won.

This is just a PR statement. A new step in delaying tactic.

Major points:

1., the minority of the fans are complaining
2., the majority loves the endings
3. artistic integrity
4., they will answer for the questions some way

This is NOT a promise. Ray doesn't said "OK, we will do an ending DLC because ME3 ending was a last minute bull****."

So no, I'm not satisfied with this blogpost.

HOLD THE LINE!

We have not won. That statement was simply a feint to try and calm people down. To break our resolve. Nowhere did he clearly admit fault. Nowhere did he clearly state that the ending will change. Until we get CLEAR statements regarding those issues, we have not won.

Bioware has made a clear and concise announcement that they acknowledge the issue that Fans have with the ending and are making real steps to fix it.
"Exec Producer Casey Hudson and the team are hard at work on a number of game content initiatives that will help answer the questions, providing more clarity for those seeking further closure to their journey."
Whatever this new content will be remains to be seen, but those of us involved in the Retake Mass Effect Movement, and other such organizations, must respect Bioware enough to maintain a level head and a civil tounge now that Bioware has announced their intentions to alter/edit/extend the ending to Mass Effect 3. What they have promised to do is something not done lightly. I ask that all attacks on Bioware cease and that those who wish for a fitting end of the series to continue with constructive feedback on the endings in the appropriate bioware forums.
Those who have and continue to berate bioware and their employees are not doing their cause any good, and I ask that those attacks stop. Bioware is now hard at work doing what we have asked, allow them to do their work in peace.

Won? Maybe.  We need to know what exactly they are going to do. His statement is extremely vague in that regard.

We hold the line.

NOTHING in that statement of his says "We are going to change the ending." Nothing. There will be some "explanations" of the ending. If you infer from this PR statement that you have "won" and that everyone should back down and be quiet, then congratulations, you are doing EXACTLY what they want you to do. Then in April you'll get a patch that has two NPCs talk about the ending for 30 seconds and "what it all means", together with an Alliance News Network ticket that scrolls by on the menu screen that says that "Somehow, gates blew up without destroying solar systems! Scientists baffled!"

And that's what you'll get.

Don't wag your tail like a puppy when they let you have a whiff of a bone. Wait until they actually GIVE YOU the bone. Because nothing in that statement says that they will. With all his talk of Art and artistic and art and art and art (I guess you can declare your own work art now?), I seriously doubt they're going to change one single bit of the ending.

This is exactly the kind of statement and feedback that isn't helping. I am not saying for people to stop voicing their opinions, as I stated in the post, I am asking that those who feel they can only voice their opinions through the use of insults and anger to try and keep it civil. Continue to voice your feedback, keep commenting because its what got us this far, but insulting Bioware will get us nowhere.
