Wrong.

Even the ME Twitter says something like "We're adding content, not changing any" which is what we knew already. They're not planning on fixing anything because they're only listening to whats easiest for them to hear.

They can't change the ending out of respect for the fans that do like it, and for the respect of their writers an artists. I know you all wanted some form of change but we have to be able to compromise lke BioWare had to.

To the people who need proof, grow up. Bioware is finding a compromise, you'll get your closure content. You're not going to be getting anything else, deal with it.

How can people make post like this, that are meant to inflame a thread, yet I'm not allowed to call someone a potty-word

I will happily lay down my metaphorical arms once I have installed ending DLC, until then I am going to stand here alongside my 50000 comrades and take heart knowing there is strength in numbers.

Steady now! Hold the line.

Do you guys honestly expect Bioware to come out and say "the ending we wrote sucked the big one." That isn't going to happen. You know that isn't going to happen and expecting or demanding that is insane. This is the only thing they can say to keep everyone calm and let the fans know they are in the process of creating some new material that will give us closure. If the new ending I see is worthy of the ME series, then Bioware will have regained me as a loyal customer.

Nope.

If you read, it says they are working on two different types of LDC: 'planned' DLC (future paid SP content and MP) and 'new' DLC that will 'clarify' and 'bring more closure' to fans regarding the end of the series.

The first battle has been won: we've gotten a grudging PR address from the CEO of Bioware ( a major accomplishment), but we still have a war to win.

One question regarding the OP..... how exactly does posting on a forum prevent Bioware from doing their jobs?

Do the programmers / writers / artists / voice actors all have to moderate this place when theres lots of activity? Dont they have people to do that for them who would not otherwise be doing work integral to game content?

This is straight from the Bioware Twitter. Yes it could be PR, yes it could be a lie, no it doesnt mean that all of our concerns will be addressed but it does mean something--it means that they are paying attention.

@asenza We are adding new content that is being created specifically to address the passionate outcry of our fans. That is news.

We're making progress, but we haven't won anything yet. We need to keep holding the line.

Nothing is confirmed, other than that there will be more news in April. So keep holding the line.

So what hold the line for six months to a year from now? Dont waste your time, move on. People want a better ending? I want world peace but I have a much better chance of becoming Ms. America than BW changing the ending to cater to everyone and having world peace also.

KEEP HOLDING THE LINE PEOPLE! We cannot waver! We must let them know with certainty what we want for our endings!

haven't won a thing. Probably won't ever, either.

But still holding, I do so love me a lost cause!

They aren't changing the endings no matter how you twist "winning".

Expanding them is possible because we do need answers, but erasing the last 10 minutes of the game? Not going to happen.

DLC that explains the final choice can still be good. I picked destroy but I'd be interested to see character reactions after Shepard becomes Reaper God, or synthesis. Definitely a WTF moment for the 'victors'.

The DLC better be free, too.

We already paid the full price of the game and expect the ending to be included in the price - like any other game.

I agree that we should keep letting our voices be heard untill it's actually released. Silence might be misunderstood as "it blew over". I also agree to remaining civil about it.

They aren't changing a thing. The statement today was just an attempt to make it look like they are doing something. The guy basically said that they will explain the ending to us idiots, give us some closure information, and that they are only going to read positive statements so if you said they failed at their ending they will ignore you.

The first battle of the PR war has been won, Bioware has had to respond with a public statement that has been widely published acknowledging the Retake Movement exists.

That's one battle folks, the war is going to be a long one.

Hold the Line.

We should keep the line held 24/7.

That way, we can still make sure than the new "initiatives" are not only clarification, and involve a satisfying outcome for the fans.

Bioware has made a clear and concise announcement that they acknowledge the issue that Fans have with the ending and are making real steps to fix it.
"Exec Producer Casey Hudson and the team are hard at work on a number of game content initiatives that will help answer the questions, providing more clarity for those seeking further closure to their journey."
Whatever this new content will be remains to be seen, but those of us involved in the Retake Mass Effect Movement, and other such organizations, must respect Bioware enough to maintain a level head and a civil tounge now that Bioware has announced their intentions to alter/edit/extend the ending to Mass Effect 3. What they have promised to do is something not done lightly. I ask that all attacks on Bioware cease and that those who wish for a fitting end of the series to continue with constructive feedback on the endings in the appropriate bioware forums.
Those who have and continue to berate bioware and their employees are not doing their cause any good, and I ask that those attacks stop. Bioware is now hard at work doing what we have asked, allow them to do their work in peace.

"Exec Producer Casey Hudson and the team are hard at work on a number of game content initiatives that will help answer the questions, providing more clarity for those seeking further closure to their journey."

Which could ALSO simply mean, "We are continuing to work on the DLC we've been planning for months, and that is it."

You're reading what you want to find in his words. Not what he actually said, which was incredibly vague.  I will let them continue their work in peace when they state unequivocally that they are working on changed/expanded/replaced endings for the single player game.

No.

We hold the line until we get fixed endings DLC.
And even then, we have to play and see is it actually fixed.

I must respectfully disagree with the OP. We have not "won", but we have made substantial progress in moving Bioware towards our perspective. It is definitely something to be happy about, but don't grow complacent either. Keep on holding the line. :)

My guess is it'll be like that parody youtube video with the Animal house style epilogue, just painted with a slightly brighter picture to "provide closure." They may even remove Buzz and Sweets.

We've won nothing.
