Wrong part of the forum as this is the Mass Effect 1 and 2 forum 
Been awhile since i played it but as far as i remember you can install it in a current run of the game.
A new location will show up on the map and you can go there and start the mission/dlc.

Yeah not here but as soon as you leave the first town you stop at, it will show up on the map.
