I don't care if the ending is changed, but what is really sad is that someome who enjoyed the ending would have to defend their stance so fervently and bash anyone who disagrees. It makes sense for the retake crowd to be on here, they have a specific goal they want to achieve, but people like you I dont get. You enjoyed the ending, great. Whether the retake crowd gets their way or not shouldn't change your enjoyment of the game.

I've come to the conclusion that some people like to be contrary to the crowd. Giving them a sense of superiority.

Other can't handle having anyone disagreeing with them, even if it doesn't affect them at all.

And others are just mean.

Yes, everyone who doesn't like the ending wrote that post and not, like say, a single anonymous person. I wish to learn how to implement your special brand of logic. Perhaps that would help make me think ME3's ending was Harlan Ellison levels of genius.

It starts with a ball peen hammer, a lot of brute force and the constitution to withstand quite a bit of pain.

Don't you know anything? They are one single entity. It makes it easier to attack them. :-)

I don't visit PA enough to post on their forums or have a registered account there, but it seems that there is a claim that the person who posted this info used an account that was known to belong to the writer in question. If this is the case, then either somebody hijacked the account to post disinformation for their own entertainment, or the more likely idea that the original account user posted it, and is an ME3 writer, and for some unknown reason decided to jeopardize his career by posting this (perhaps while a bit tipsy?) and then got called into the bosses office for a lecture where he insisted it wasn't him.

I don't see how Chris Priestly can prove that this wasn't Patrick Weeks, and I'd be willing to be that if it hasn't been deleted yet, checking the comment history of that account would prove that it does belong to Mr. Weeks.

The PA forum pages about this were interesting.  If it was true it would certainly explain a lot about the inconsistency of the ending when compared with the rest of the game.   But oh well...it'll never amount to more than speculation.

The post completely rings true, and I think even more so with Bioware's immediate response that it was fake. If the post (which can be seen here http://www.gamefront...lam-the-ending/) isn’t from an actual Bioware writer, that person (who somehow hacked his account) is incredibly creative and knowledgeable. I agree with everything he says, and I think that the feeling of the ending could have been very different if each of the three endings had three different outcomes dependent on your EMS (although Marauder Shields and Casper would still be ridiculous).

Do we have a confirmation that somebody hacked Patrick's PA account? If not, then at the moment it is not fake.
I would completely understand Patrick withdrawing his own words after meeting with EA legal team.

Really, anybody here could have written it.
You see, the possibility that the ending might have been written by someone else than the rest of the game, and wasn't properly peer reviewed has been discussed for days. It's evident from the stark difference in narrative quality between the last 10minutes and the rest of the game.
So even though a Writer (supposedly) confirming it has quite some shock value, it's no big news to anyone who has followed these forums for a while.

Secondly, Patrick did say which characters he wrote on his twitter account. That much is legal, afaik and shouldn't get him in trouble.
However, it plays right into the hands of whoever faked that post, seeing as it's prime material to give it that certain air of "insider knowledge" - when it's really just copy pasta from twitter.

The rest is just hacking the account and piecing it together.

So for gods sake, everybody stop trying to pin this on Patrick.
He's one of the best writers Bioware has and getting him fired for some cheesy headlines about something he most likely didn't even do, is simply not worth it.

The only question I have is why Patrick isn't lead writer If this happens to be true, it says a lot about hudson and Mac...and none of it good
