I don't know about you guys, but even IF this was real and BioWare fired this guy - if I were Bethesda or another legit development studio, i'm swooping him up right away....why?

Because he's not completely out of tune with the people actually playing the games (hint: fanbase) like BioWare appears to be right now. In fact, if it's true, this leak is probably a GOOD thing for this guy!

Its too late, the damage is done.

Truth to be told, the word would have 99% likely circulated back to his bosses in any case... posting the stuff here just means they get to see it sooner rather than having to go dig for it themselves.

That certainly has not been my experience. I couldn't begin to count the number of employment agreements I've prepared for clients who don't trust the person they're hiring as far as they can throw them, but need someone with skills, connections, or talent that cannot be easily found elsewhere.

Of course, I've never dealth with this industry, so you could be right about game developers.

It would already have been seen by Bioware anyway so I don't think there's any reason to delete it.  If you hear anything about the writer being legitimate and/or getting in trouble though bumping this thread with that would be very useful.

its not really that crazy. I know on a sports site I used to frequent a player (CJ Wilson for any Rangers fans) used to comment on the fan site (Lone Star Ball) occasionally. Then one day he said something about Michael Young (I don't remember the exact quote) and a local beat writer picked it up and he got reprimanded. Suffice to say he doesn't post there anymore, but like someone said in the first page these guys are human.

This.  I would re-direct my anger towards Hudson and Walters.  Which is mostly where it's at anyway.

Keep this. If Casey is solely responsible for the plot-hole-ridden ending that doesn't make any sense, I think we have a right to know. And if he's *NOT* responsible, all he has to do is come here and say "Hey, it wasn't me, I didn't write it."

Well if I understand the op correctly, it sounds like the writer in question is a known poster on the Penny Arcade forums who posted that there, so it sounds like this might be legit. 


Now once something gets on the internet it's incredibly hard to get it off so... um... I'd say just take what refrences to the guy you can take out, out of there and just leave the bare skeleton of what he said.

I doubt it is true, I don't think a writer would write something that can never get published and would likely get him fired if leaked. But it is actually a pretty good read regardless.

Whether it is real or not, Earth being more damaged depending on ESM IS in the game.

Low esm: All life on earth gets vaporized on cutscene

Higher esm: Clock tower gets blown off, not sure if other visible differences

Highest esm: Clock tower doesn't get blown off.

That's what I figured anyways. It was already spreading. Once people saved what he wrote and put it in documents, it would have gotten back to his employers.

That said, I've looked more into it and believe it to be true. But won't post anything more, since people are already touchy on giving information.

Mac Walters was the lead writer and wrote the ending.

Well, i don't really see why he should be fired if this was Real.

He didnt say anything hateful about any members of the team, didnt give away any information on future projects, it was just a Harmless insight into how the game is Written.

He might have been talking about there was scenes that were extended. That show more of this, then the short cut up 3 min segement we got at the end, that barely showed how it played out.
