Just because something makes sense, doesn't mean its real.

Indoctrination theory will prove that.

I doubt it's real, but makes me especially skeptical. Unless I'm misremembering or otherwise missed something, no such thing exists for Mordin, does it?

As far as I'm aware Mordin can survive, if you make certain choices in ME1&2, and persuade him o go along with the sabourtage.

So there should be last conversations with him.

Mordin survives if you convince him to sabotage the genophage (Wrex and Eve must be dead). I'd assume that, since almost everyone either cured the genophage or killed Mordin to sabotage it, it's a rare scene.

Huh.

I would like to believe it but I don't.

The only way I'd believe this was if he attached his name and there was confirmation he no longer worked for Bioware. It does happen sometimes that writers go into detail about their prior work after being released from a company.

The section talking about what he wrote in the game is true and was posted here http://pats-quinade.livejournal.com/

The part about who actually wrote the ending is unverifiable as far as I know.

im surpised at how this tread wasnt locked yet, even if t was fake i the mods should have done SOMETHING by now

Why should they?

If this is the writer, doesn't he have a right to speak about it? And if this isn't real, it's clearly labeled speculation.

I fail to see how this = a locked thread. No one is being uncivil or negative here.

No one was uncivil in the 2 FTC treads (that i strongly disaprove of), but they still found a bogus reason to lock it. If this was compromising someone from the staff they wouldve locked this for any random reason...

Who cares. The ending is obviously an element of autistic decision making. That happens in a great many organisations, I can not see why this wouldn't happen at BioWare. I just can not believe no one thought, wait a minute, what's going on here and stepped on the brakes. These kind of plans can only survive when an individual has too much power within an organisation. And God, I do encounter that a lot in my work :/ .

Wait... you can convince Mordin to fake the genophage cure?

(just painfully watched him crawl, shot, towards the control console only to die)

What about that post I find very interesting is the time and the fact it was  deleted an hour later.  It was posted on the same day as  the Co-founder makde his blog statement.  This is very interesting to say the least.... we have no way to prove if these is true or not,

If this was and or is true  then there were some meetings at Bioware offices between Top Excecutives and Senior  Staff on the Mass Effect  3 Team. Those meetings must have not been very pleasent(what I would give to be a fly on the wall in that room).   If the is true - then him coming out likes  this means that he is not afraid for his  job because  some internal changes  most likely going to happen...  not immediately bare in mind  but once this resolved - I can see  some people being move out..

Thats IF this  post is true....

Edit: Well that solves mystery...

Really, if the only difference EMS makes is whether or not you lose Big Ben, I must say someone really got a free meal ticket.

Who was the writter who quit Bioware riught before the realease date? He couldve left because of this debacle. Was it Drew?

You mean Jesse Housten. He wasn't a writer. He was formerly GUI, Online and Multiplayer Producer for ME3.

If true: ROTFL at Hudson & Mac thinking the plot-hole ridden, technophobic, space magic ending is "intellectual." Under intellectual scrutiny, it fails utterly.

Patrick Weekes actually did say on his Twitter last week that Mac Walters wrote the ending exclusively and that no other writer was involved. So that part is confirmed true. And no, I am not going to go dig through a week of posts to find it......Trust me, it's there if you want to find it yourself.

Yeah exactly, plus as someone already stated the second post is real I've seen it myself, the question is whether the first post is real. And like I said based on what we know it makes a lot of sense and seems true.

You can make it so there is no cure. And no Wrex. And no Eve.

That'll make Mordin stand down (because it's pointless) without the need to shoot him, apparently.

Yet another interesting eventuality covered. Which again, makes the ending all that more disappointing ;)

That's a relief.

I'd hate to see him loose his job for this.

Pray go and pat him on the back for some stellar writing, while you're at it

Cool.  But if he wrote the Mordin/Genophage act, can you also go and thank him for it?  For us?

Because that was beautifully written and clearly the emotional high point of ME3.

I would like the writers at Bioware to know that we do appreciate good prose and quality when it's there.

It just wasn't there for the ending.

Thanks for clarifying. Can you lock the thread then? Not sure if someone can edit the title of the thread to confirm it's fake.

Question:  Why Walters - who is this person, and what does he/she have to do with the ending?

Lead Writer for ME3.

And if this is legit, he's got everything to do with it.

People were suspecting it anyway, though - seeing the stark difference between the quality of the ending and that of the overall game. No way in hell did this go through any kind of peer review.

Agreed - the quality took a STEEP nose-dive right after Shepard rode the beam of light...  I don't even mind the conversation with TIM/Anderson, and I'm willing to overlook the fact that he somehow got there ahead of Shepard.  The re-use of the "I'll convince him to kill himself" is a bit corny, but I can put up with that - just so long as we get rid of the stupid "star-child" bullsh*t and get an ending that makes the slightest bit of sense!

Honestly though, the main reasons to doubt its real are:

1. He would almost certainly face heavy reprecussions for making such a remark (writers are probably under strict guidelines not to comment at this stage), and the casual name dropping of characters he wrote in the first post give him away.

2. I remember the second post, which was genuinely posted by one of the writers on their own livejournal. The reason it was deleted was because people were leaving comments attacking the other writers for the ending, not because he arbitrarily posts things on reddit and then deletes them after an hour (why would anyone do this).

edit - confirmed fake anyway. Of course it was. Thread over.
