I've updated the OP and the thread title to reflect that this is fake. As confirmed by Chris Priestly.

If you needed proof that BioWare is a company with integrity, it's that they don't rage out over stuff like this. That said, feel the thread should be locked.

I doubted that it could be true. And I doubt that the ending could be written without being reviewed by the writers. Doesn't make sense.

He's been working on SWTOR for the last few years.  He was the main writer of Mass Effect 1.  I think he left BioWare so he can write novels full time instead of doing game and novels.

Given the characters Patrick has written that I've enjoyed, I still owe him far more than he owes me.

Yeah exactly, plus as someone already stated the second post is real I've seen it myself, the question is whether the first post is real. And like I said based on what we know it makes a lot of sense and seems true.

NOT saying I think that forum post is real....ONLY confirming that he did mention the lead writer being responsible for the ending. Just so everyone understands what is actually fact.

Thanks for making me realize what a weird love/hate relationship I have with Bioware at this point, though.

While I'm seriously mad at whoever cooked up that ending, I also cringed at the thought of someone loosing his job that gave us characters like Mordin and Tali.

You're really making this hard on us, Bioware:blush:

So... did you thank him for us?  Because it would be good for the writers to know, again, that even if the fans are upset with the quality of the ending it isn't a reflection on the entire game's writing or direction as a whole.

And it can't be said enough how fantastic Mordin and his character arc was.

If this is real (and I sure hope it is), the concepts of entitlement and the artists' choice go out the window. The Retake Mass Effect movement could petition for an ending written by all the writing staff, which would be a much nobler cause in the eyes of the gaming press.

I just like to add I love the geth homeworld part as well espically the ending. I think we should so some love they the writers as well as they did do some top stories in this. I aint giving up on the ending but they need some love
