Its the one feature i wish were in the game. An out of combat resting similar to Neverwinter Nights.

Hate waiting for the slow health/mana replen to happen.

Quick BioWare... patch that into the game right away. k Thx

Yeah I found myself trying to rest when I first started, guess they think it wasn't needed when you wern't limited by spells per day anymore.

resting in dao is just standing there for 10-20 seconds letting your bars fill back up instead of having a little cut scene with a dice roll for an ambush.

it doesnt bother me really. i think the resting thing was out of place in a lot of scenarios anyways.

Could be... i found it odd it wasnt there.

Its a pretty common feature in these kind of games. It takes awhile to replen, especially if you dont have a Wynne in the party.

For me it just seems to take a bit too long for the replen. Especailly during quests like the Last Request, lots of rooms and small skirmishes.

LOL Do you remember how difficult it was to actually DIE in NWN2?

If you really want you can travel back to your "camp" putting up with load times. It's there, just a pain to get to at times. Without that you are limited to waiting a short time and/or using consumables. Not a big deal. If you are really desparate keep some "regen out of combat" items handy to speed things up.

If the rest feature would have a cutscene, I bet it'd take longer than it takes now. Also, I agree that it wasn't always appropriate to rest everywhere (although arguably, just standing there for 10 seconds normally doesn't heal your lethal wounds very well either).

If anything, I would request that once out of combat, we would just get everything back at once. I mean, what's the point? I'm going to get my health/mana/stamina back anyway. This would just save me 10 seconds of doing nothing.

I thought it would have been easier to rest to heal any injuries as well as injury kits.

KOTOR didn't have resting. Neither did Jade Empire or Mass Effect. I think this is just the new norm for Bioware games.

Exactly... An out of combat rest is nice. Not every party member regens the same. Sometimes it is quite longer than 10 seconds too, depending on the battle.

A cutscene would be necessary just click rest they sit real quick, its done.

The regen was faster in those games... The out of combat regen should be faster if there is no rest option

if i were to guess about it since im not a developer, i would say they dont do the instant heal to full because it preserves some of the feeling of resting. it is an RPG game after all, and if it was just instant heal to full after every battle it would seem a little silly to me.

it just gives the game a different feel when you can choose to stop and wait to fill back up before pushing ahead, or you can choose to push ahead anyways and gamble the odds of still winning.

instantly healing to full life/mana/stamina would make it more like an action game than a RPG to me.
