If they charge, I'll wait for some drone with recording software to be stupid enough to buy it and wait for him to upload the walkthrough video to youtube.

I'm not a "hater." I'm a disappointed fan. There's a difference, and one that this board seems to be forgetting as time goes on. Online fora far too often serve as echo chambers, amplifying the sound of your own voice and drowning out all the others.

I will almost certainly buy their DLC. Purely cosmetic things like appearance packs, probably not. Multiplayer maps, maybe. Single-player content with story - even pre-ending - almost certainly. Post-ending content, absolutely.

Now that bioware says they are attempting to clarify the ending., what are you going to do about future DLC.

Personally I was going to avoid it all until I knew if it addressed the ending.  I'd hate for Bioware to be pulling a PR stunt just to get me to buy DLC that may exaggerate the content concerning the ending

I look at it this way: an improved ending would make me want to play the game, which in turn might make it worth my money to invest in DLC. I won't be reaching for my credit card until they announce something definite, but the likelyhood of me buying more Mass Effect has certainly gone up.

Until the ending makes sense--something I'm not sure just clarification will do--I just don't have the urge to buy DLC. Money is tight, and I don't want to spend it on something that will only end up depressing me. The only exception would be expanding the ME2 squad's roles, including the LIs, but even that's not a guaranteed sell.

No, won't pay for a thing.

I bought the 2 Disc edition of ME1.
Collectors Edition of ME2.
Collectors Edition of ME3.
All 4 of the novels.
All of the comics (and comics have never been my thing).
Bought the Soundtracks to the first 2 games (the one with the CE of 2 messed up so I went and payed for it).

I have given them enough of my money, only for them to fall way short of that they promised.

Not until I know the game's ending has been drastically changed into something at least partially decent, appropriate, and artistically intelligent. If all they do, as the latest statement goes, is "clarify" the current ending, instead of make it something that doesn't suck, then they've pulled the old PR classic "Don't actually do anything but say you have and maybe people will be stupid enough to buy it" trick, and I will continue with my boycotting of EA products.

You do not want clarification, you want endings that make sense.
Because clarifying doesn't mean making sense anymore?

No. Will not pay for such a thing. It should be free, as compensation for the disappointment and anxiety wrought upon the community.

Agreed.

If all we get is some written out explanation of what we saw, it's not going to help.  Doing so would say to me that they clearly didn't do a good enough job of telling the story at the end.  If you go from A to B and then later have to draw that line for people, that means you didn't do it well enough the first time.

I don't need to be told what happened.  I don't need the implications of the three colors explained because it's not that hard to follow.  It just was poorly done, and not Bioware's best effort.

I'll wait until Bioware says "we'll fix the endings". If I don't hear that then forget it.

You CANNOT just go back and delete an ending to a finished product. Since when are you allowed to go to any artist, whether it be a film maker, or video game developer, or musician, or painter, name your pick, and ask them to change their work because you didnt like it?

Don't be absurd, I can ALMOST guarantee you, that clarification is all you're going to get. Assuming anything else is nonsensical, grow up. You really don't understand the implications of what you're asking.

Um, "I am Legend"? I'm sure there are plenty more but thats the one on my mind since i only saw it recently

"Clarification" is so vague in this context we have no idea what it means.

I think the issue is Bioware is trying to be all artsy, when this is really more of a crafting/engineering issue.

The ending doesn't need "clarification", it needs an overhaul.

Pay attention please.
I think I was quite clear, the current endings make no sense, and can make no sense.
There is no justification for the spacebrat's logic that works - the game's events contradict it.
There is NO explanation for the Normandy's flight from Sol. NONE.
Any "clarification they come up with will only serve to create more plot holes and give us more space magic."

We need new, DIFFERENT endings that make sense.

95 percent of this game is pure gold. The end.... well... Destroy all synthetics - That's not just the Reapers, that includes the Geth. Which I just tried my damnedest to reunite with the Quarian people. Who are now helping the Quarians re-adapt to their homeworld. Sorry, guys. You have to be destroyed for the good of the galaxy and so I can see Shep take a breath at the end. I'm not just destroying a race of now friendly advanced robots, I'm dooming another to spend hundreds of years adapting to their homeworld. They have their homeworld back, but still
have to be confined to their suits. My bad. But, hey, most of your fleet is stuck in the Sol system now because the mass relays are destroyed. Every cloud has a silver lining, baby.

Sorry, EDI. I know I pushed you into a relationship with Joker, but now I'm taking you away from him. Hey, not my fault you're a synthetic and have to die for the good of the galaxy. Even though you just told me that it's because of me that you feel alive. Tough cookies, sweetheart.

Synthesis - Yay, space magic. I just decided to take away every single thing that is alive in the entire galaxy's choice by combining organic and synthetic life, creating the next step in evolution. No more diversity. Woohoo! But, take heart, because at least now, the Quarians and Turians stuck here won't starve to death because they can't eat what humans do. Oh yeah and I die! Woohoo!

Control - I disintegrate my body and become a higher being to control the Reapers. Don't ask me how
this **** works. I don't even.

Last I knew, Joker was flying the Normandy back into battle to help the fleets take down the Reapers. Why is he now outrunning the explosion that happened no matter which option I chose? How did my squadmates teleport to the Normandy when they were all on Earth with me?

Lastly, and most importantly, why is my Shepard railroaded into 3 choices that he or she
would never make? My Shepard would tell the mysterious AI/Godchild/thing, "I don't accept any of these choices. I brought the races of the entire galaxy together to stop the Reapers here and now and we will die trying with or without your help. Eff your choices."

Here's another option I want; shut down the Reapers. Just stop them. You control them. Shut them down and turn yourself off. Sacrifices were made, billions are dead, planets are devastated, it's over. We win because I'm here against all odds. The end.

Address this and we'll talk about me spending my money. :)

Considering it's just going to be a series of mid-game DLC that effetely explains the plot-holes, no, I won't be buying any of the DLC.

Unfortunately, no, I wouldn't buy any DLC until there's actual confirmation that they are going to fix this mess. I don't want them to add things to the ending to "clarify" or rather fix all the plotholes. At the very least the current endings are going to need actual changes.

It would have to come equipped with a pretty damn awesome ending (like the whole squad getting wasted in a bar and/or relaxing on a beach) for me to buy it, especially when it will come far too late and the spoiled liquor of the original ending has already coagulated into an irremovable stain on the surface of memories.

Like that one Forbes article said, it would have probably been the very best plot twist ever if the indoctrination theory had been correct. Time, though, is the killer here. If the REAL ending would have been up on release or even a few days afterwards, it would have still saved the series for me, but a month's time is just way too long and the ugly memories will have started to fester.
