I wanted to post this thread since I have been playing Mass Effect 3 lately. I think I am on my 5th playthrough. I try to play it from different angles. Plus I find that I come across something humorous each time.
The thing that is really bothering me about the ending after the long hours of playing is why did BioWare decide to play it off as Machines and Organics can not co-exist peacefully. I mean even among Humans we have division and quarrels. Yet should that mean we should wipe ourselves out every 50,000 years? I really find the whole Catalyst explanation such a weak element. It really places a negative overtone. I know right now a lot of fans are upset and don't enjoy the ending.
I just don't get it why they would play it from that angle, like some Higher Power or Dictator is running the show? I know I am adding another thread or who and whys but I was just trying to understand, why after uniting the Geth and Quarians and even the relationship with EDI they would just do that?
I mean I wasn't really expecting a everyone lives ending but I wasn't expecting a Complete Extermination of life or the end of Galactic Civilization either!
Another thread about Why oh Why
