Anyone Else Think It's Ridiculous That People Are Seeking Refunds?

In fact, I think it is ridiculous that the gaming industry is one of a handful of industries that seem to believe that consumers are not allowed to ask for their money back if a product does not live up to expectations.
I say this about games as a whole.

This is no more helpful than the flipside of it. If you support people getting refunds, say why. If you want your opinions to carry weight, give weight to those of others.

If it's unopened, you get a refund.
If it's opened and the retailer is stupid and allows you to return opened merchandise for any reason, you get a refund.
If it's broken when you open it and does not work, or is shattered into a million pieces, you get a refund.
If it works just fine, you simply didn't like it, you don't get the refund.
Honest to god, how the hell is this a difficult concept to grasp?
Not really.
If I buy a T-shirt with a print on it, and the print does not match what the website showed, or is not as good a quality as I had anticipated then I have a right to return it.
It still functions perfectly well as a T-shirt, but the quality is bad, or I didn't get what I was promised. Those make me eligible for a refund, and Mass Effect 3 had both of those problems.
That falls under the criteria of "defective product" because it is clearly defective from what you ordered. Mass Effect 3 is NOT defective. It's just not. It may not live up to your ridiculous expectations for it, but it is in no way a defective product.
To make this clear. If you had bought Mass Effect 3 from a website, and they shipped you a copy of Hello Kitty Island Adventure instead, that would be cause for a refund. If you bought Mass Effect 3 from a website, and they shipped you a copy of Mass Effect 3, and you just ended up not liking the game, that is NOT cause for a refund.
Actually, by your claims, if they shipped you a game that was called Mass effect 3 but in practical content was "hello kitty island adventure" you claim there would be nothing wrong as well.
Needless to say I disagree.
A purchaser makes his/her purchase based on the info released by the seller about the product. If this info is misleading then the purchaser bought the product under false assumptions and the sale can be voided.
Making fraudelent sales was illegal last I checked.

hey don't slap the users, go after places like Amazon and origin that are actually giving refunds!
If Amazon is giving refunds on opened materials, that's their choice and they're stupid.
If consumers are demanding refunds on open merchandise from retailers that don't give refunds on open merchandise, they're... well. They're not making the wisest decisions that they could be making.

I'd argue that Mass Effect 3 falls under "false marketing" personally, at least when the endings come into play. The website clearly states that "Your choices matter". They do not. Therefore the website is misleading you.
And my expectations, like many's, were far from "ridiculous". Wanting an endings that actually makes sense and wraps things up is far from "riciculous".
Anyway, the story is "Amazon offers refunds" not "fans demand refunds", so nobody's going over the top. To be completely honest, people who don't want the game anymore would be fools not to accept a refund when it's being offered.

If you bought a game called Mass Effect 3, and they shipped you a game called Mass Effect 3, and the disc said Mass Effect 3, and the game was Mass Effect 3.... REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU LIKED IT OR NOT THERE IS NO BASIS FOR FRAUD AND NO BASIS FOR RETURNS.
You not liking something is not a basis for legal recourse of ANY kind. If they OPT to give you a pity-refund, that's THEIR choice.
I'm done with you. I refuse to deal with someone who is continually and blatantly intellectually dishonest. You push your agenda without merit or fact. I refuse to deal with people who cannot accept that reality is not simply what they want to believe it is, no matter how any times the facts are explained to them.

And you're another one of those who screams all about how BioWare lied to them, when the truth of the matter is the game simply didn't live up to your ridiculous expectations. Lovely.
Your choices DO matter, maybe not in the way you would want them to, but they do. There are multiple endings, maybe not as different or as many as you want, but there are multiple endings. Just because YOUR expectations weren't met doesn't mean that BioWare LIED. Learn the difference.
The ONLY case you have a point on is when BioWare said you didn't have to play Multiplayer to get the best ending in Single player. That is baked up with verifiable evidence. That's it. That's the only thing you can make a case on.

Yes the most successful and biggest online retailing company is stupid for pulling good press out of this fiasco. Stupid stupid Amazon!

This is what we are talking about, right? Buyers returning used copy of the game? If they are returning unopened copies, there is nothing wrong with that. There shouldn't be any controversy surrounding returns that fall within normal return policy.

I don't scream about how Bioware lied to me, but just because I don't feel like that does not mean that it isn't an argument for the people who want refunds.
And you seem to have completely ignored my point about my expectations (And 98% of the fanbases, according to you) being "ridiculous". I'll say it agian, since you seemed to be unable to understand it the first time: Wanting an ending that makes sense is not "ridiculous". It's perfectly reasonable.
If someone promises a brilliant picture of a person and you buy it and it's just a stick figure, but the artist thought it was "brilliant" does that mean the consumer just had "ridicuolous expectations?" No, there expectations were completely reasonable going by what the person promised them. And it's the same with Mass Effect 3.
And it has nothing to do with my expectations. Casey Hudson specifically said that you "wouldn't get an ending where it goes: Press button 1 for ending A, 2 for ending B and 3 for ending C" but that is exaxctly what we got. That is a lie, whatever your expectations were.

Those ppl think 1 or both of 2 things: 1) This'll teach'em! *It probably won't and the rest of us will pay for it somehow*
And/Or
2) I just want my money back *Yep, and the rest of us will pay for this too when Amazon wises up and starts being like Best Buy or something*
Either way....Thanks!....You're screwing things up.
