O man that would be the sweetest DLC to have that as an ending.

Lets face it they got screwed in there options they either get a whiny idiot of a fool or a ****ot elf with a bad accent and more STDs than a 2 dollar hooker.

You seem to have this completely overblown estimation of the powers of being king of Ferelden. You realize the Landsmeet just finished getting rid of a kind and setting up a new one? Kings generally never have absolute power when the other nobles also have standing armies.

I get the attraction girls might of had for Haer'Dalis or Bishop but tweedle dumb and dumber I just don't get it. Then again I'm not a women or gay so maybe I'm missing something but I doubt it.

Recall she was an assassin that often slept with her marks before killing them. Whether it was by choice or not, there's still strong indication she still 'got around'.

I think he's suffering from the old "Any woman I date obviously has high standards and is a saint" syndrome we tend to get.
Oh, but the aftermath, the aftermath....

But really, none of the romances are really "great" in the happily-ever-after sense, we have two airheaded morons with the libido of a priest on altar boy day, a whiner and a sociopathic ****. In fact the whiner is the only option to have sort of a happy ending at all in the sense that you can get a long-term relationship out of it and he won't murder you in your sleep, though you might drown in his teary onslaught of doom and gloom every time he sees a sad looking puppy.
No, scratch that, all the options are horrible, but they are well written and atmospheric (And make sense, in some cases).

We Couslands expected justice from the King and recieved nothing at all. Our family line all but wiped out due to our loyalty in sending our troops south.



Add to that, King Calenhand Theirin [whom Cailan and Alistair are both descended from] forced the Couslands to join him at the tip of a sword.



No way was I going to put those schmucks back on the throne. Couslands expected justice from the king in exchange for our service. We sent our forces south and end up with our family line wiped out and the only justice we recieve being that which we took for ourselves.



Given my character's history there was NO WAY I would let Alistair rule. Ever.



He was lucky I didn't have him executed... but he scurries away in the face of a BLIGHT, when i have a strong feeling that Duncan would have chosen to make Loghain a Grey Warden given the opportunity, even despite the things he did. But Duncan was wise. Alistair is not.





I liked him my first playthrough, found him to be an utter tool every other playthrough, tried the romance... best romance in the game IMHO.



Still can't bloody stand him, though.

It's not that she won't marry him, but it's just smart of her to bring up. But she's so power hungry that she doesn't, and that, I think, says loads about her as Queen.

I suspect there may be a different, personal reason for that actually. When my elf talked with her about how this idea of maybe marrying Alistair would fly with her, the first thing she said made her uncomfortable was Alistair's physical resemblance to his half-brother and her late husband.

I could buy it. I wouldn't want to be reminded how my spouse died because of what my own father did every day of my life waking up and seeing a look-alike sleeping in my bed, either.

Not to mention the possibility for embarrassing mix-up in the throes of passion. That's just asking for trouble

Um...Alistair isn't racist. When he comes to you and tells you he's ready to "spend the night with you" and you're an elf, you can ask him "Even though I'm not human?" and he will in return say "Especially because of that."

Just to touch on something that's been brought up here but is semi-off topic:

I found the female city elf origin extremely difficult to sit through.  It's brutal almost to the point of sadism, and it was also personally uncomfortable for me as I've had what happened to Shianni hit far too close to home in real life.

If there's one origin that would create a character who just wants to watch the world burn, that's it.  If the character I put through that had the opportunity and power she'd just evacuate all the elves to Orlais and let the Blight take the rest.

I am quite certain I will never play that origin again.  I doubt I'll even bother to get her through Ostagar.
