It got me thinking about whether there was a connection between how recently people joined the series and how much time they had invested in it and the extended universe.
Here come the questions:
Question 1
Did you like the Mass Effect 3 endings?
A) Yes
Question 2
Which was your first Mass Effect game?
A) Mass Effect
C) Mass Effect 3
Question 3
Have you completed multiple playthroughs of any Mass Effect game?
A) Yes
Question 4
Have you read any of the Mass Effect novels or comics?
A) Yes

My answers are:
1) B
2) A
3) A
4) A
Perhaps people who joined the series later and haven't completed multiple playthroughs are more likely to like the ending of Mass Effect 3? Maybe people who have read the comics and/or novels as well as playing the games are more likely to dislike the endings?
One way to find out - leave your answers below. If this thread goes anywhere I'll see if I can come up with some statistics.
EDIT: For clarification, this is on the back of a comment I made on one of the Forbes articles where I suggested that perhaps the reason that most "mainstream" game reviewers were happy with the endings is that they had less invested in the series than fans (maybe this is just another game they had to play for work?). I wanted to see if this sentiment could be correlated from players in general.

Update:
Ok, quick stats update for you before my lunch break is over. After 187 responses (up to fchopin on Page 9):
91.44% of people dislike the endings.
91.44% of people played Mass Effect first.
66.31% of people have read a comic and/or novel.
98.4% of people have completed multiple playthroughs of one or more of the games.
61.24% of people are sheep (answered BAAA).
Finally, of those who said that they liked the endings, all of them started playing from Mass Effect, which continues to disprove my theory (which was the whole point of the survey). I’m happy to be proved wrong.
