I will precise that I liked the ending the first time. Not all of it, but the general tone of it (Sheppard's sacrifice).Update:
Ok, quick stats update for you before my lunch break is over. After 187 responses (up to fchopin on Page 9):
91.44% of people dislike the endings.
91.44% of people played Mass Effect first.
66.31% of people have read a comic and/or novel.
98.4% of people have completed multiple playthroughs of one or more of the games.
61.24% of people are sheep (answered BAAA).
Finally, of those who said that they liked the endings, all of them started playing from Mass Effect, which continues to disprove my theory (which was the whole point of the survey). I’m happy to be proved wrong.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn't say I totally dislike/hate the ending. But I am disapointed, after re-playing the end sequence that they all are basically the same. And the Normandy being in hyperspace and crashing with all my crew, even those that were on Earth with me... that felt weird the first time.
I still think it's 50% bad 50% good ending if you only consider one possible ending. But all having all endings the same in 3 different colors... that was a bit stupid, imho.

While the ending wasn't my ideal ending, it was a hopeful one, which is good enough for me. Of course, I've seen quite a few anime shows, so open-ended endings don't really throw me off too much.
