In 1986, Johnson and Johnson suffered one of the greatest threats to its existence - the Tylenol poisonings. They offered to replace every bottle of Tylenol pills in the country with Tylenol tablets. FOR FREE. And guess what? In the years following the poisonings, sales of Tylenol soared. Anti-tampering packaging became the norm.
It is win-win. In the long run.
I severly hope you see the difference here.

You are free to disagree, good sir. I can see where you are coming from.
But wait until BioWare actually succumbs to this demand. You will be $15 richer and have closure with ME. Sometimes you need to push hard to get what you want.
Or you may risk to ridicule yourself by confirming claims about false entitlement. Some people who are abusive are not helping our cause. By asking Bioware to make a DLC we are trying to convince them that it would be a win-win decission. More happy customers and more revenue for Bioware. By sending a message that you will NOT be satisfied by non-free DLC what you really do is making them further consider if this whole thing is worth it. Is that 10 or 15 bucks worth it? My intention is to have Mass Effect in a state where I would be able to score it 10/10. My intention is not to humiliate Bioware or "teach them a lesson". I am sure they already learned what was needed by now.

You need to convince Bioware, not other forum posters. If Bioware doesn't think offering a free dlc is a win-win in the long run, they won't make one. And if they think no one will pay for an ending dlc then they won't make a new ending at all.

It's the same thing. Customers offered their concerns. Company tosses out a carrot. Customer loves company again.
It can happen here, with free DLC.

We don't know what they have planned yet, but they are planning something. Be patient, give them a chance, but hold them to account.

I see your point and I am reluctantly to agree. At this point I just want a fix to the ending regardless. But logically speaking, of course, it should be free considering they pretty much lied to us.
Indeed! Look at all of the false advertising! "Many endings!"

Of course having a free DLC would be awesome and I would love Bioware for that. The problem is that you are DEMANDING a free DLC which in my opinion is not reasonable.Zenoctilles wrote...

Okay, so they are working on something. NOW you want it free? These things cost money to develop and I for one will pay the Five to Ten bucks for a DLC. Twenty to Thirty for an Expansion Pack.
This. Some of you need to calm down and stop complaining about everything.

We aren't entitled to a free dlc. Bioware is kind enough to go out of their way to create this for us, the least we could do is give them money for their work. They'll have my $10-15.

However, I am more apt to lean toward free DLC due to many of the reasons listed throughout this thread. We aren't entitled to it of course, but we have the right to amplify our displeasure at any point if we feel further cheated.

may I suggest changing the name of this topic to be less... aggressive?
This.
Also I don't think it will be free. They have to pay all the people that are involved into that mess. If the DLC answers all of my questions or completely change the endings according to my decisions I would pay ~10bucks happily. (Now flame me for that)

They do, but then, if BioWare would have put a little more thought and invested a little more time and money into the ending, they wouldn't be in this situation in the first place. They promised a lot for the ending and instead delivered the opposite.
If this was about an expansion pack, I'd pay for it, but this is about something they said would be part of the game, something they reassured us about on several occasions. The Day One DLC thing was bad enough and I'm more and more ashamed of myself that I bought it when I should have drawn a line. But I will not pay for something that is supposed to be part of the game and included in the prize again.
Also, look at it from a different perspective: If they fix the ending, people might actually buy DLC. If they don't, only those who like the ending will. It's in their own interest.
AND: If we teach them now that rushing releases like this will cost them more in the end, they might actually learn a thing or two from Blizzard. WoW aside, Blizzard always delivers and they don't release anything until it's as good as it's ever gonna be.
Yes, BioWare: Be more like Blizzard. Not in the sense of collecting mountains of data about all of us, but in the positive way: Ignore EA's deadlines and don't release something until it's actually finished. That's how you keep customers in a world where every second game is broken on release or not worth its money (or both).

That being said, hardly anything is ever as it should be.
To get me to pay for an ending DLC, it would have to be worth it, if it's only a conclusion like the DA2 ending, you'd be better off just watching Mass Effect 3 - The Animal House Ending for free.
