You know what?

Next playthrough, I'm taking my crew (along with Wrex and Mordin) and we're moving to that beachfront property Kaidan mentioned he owned. I'll save billions of lives in sitting on the beach, relaxing, and all of us can enjoy our final days/weeks/months alive while everyone else gets a little longer to live, too.

Just refuse indoctrination and wake up in London like most of us.  THEN take your crew with you to the beach after you finish the fight.  Sadly, you'll have to imagine how you win the battle.

We actually go into the citadel for real, not street clothes dream sequence, and I tell the reapers to leave or I kill them all.  They will leave.  I tell them I will fire the crucible and kill them all if they ever come back.

Mass effect relays stay intact.  Galaxy contiues on like normal.  We win.

On  a side note we keep researching the crucible and find out if it will harm the Geth.  If it does we move the geth to a new system that is out of reach of the mass effect relays in case we have to turn on the crucible.  We win again.

Is it sad that i actually hope that if the endings are not in fact part of an indoctrination dream, that the mass relays actually go supernova?

I just cant stand the thought of all the characters ive grown to care about slowly starving to death/degenerating to slaughtering other people to obtain enough food to survive?

Better to have a quick painless death right?

Just got thru my 2nd playthru, where I gathered more resources, hoping to keep my Shep alive.....::sigh:: I still don't get it....and then that Stargazer guy....and the "Child"? Did anyone notice that the "Child" walking with Stargazer is really just a miniature adult model? It's not a child model at all and it used all the adult mannerisms?

I just feel like some portions of the game got ALOT of attention and detail and then randomly, there are pockets of the game where they didn't try....::sigh:: it's gonna be tough to play this 5 more times with all those ME-2 saves I got....

Yep. Welcome to the "2nd Playthrough Club."  It was actually really hard to do... the game is so awesome, I was almost able to forget the ending.. and then I got there and had to deal with the Starchild's bull all over again.

*Sigh*

Holding the line.

Should have had the option to pull a Baltar so that shep could at least get a hot piece of ass out of dooming humanity... as opposed to a ****ty death.

The most bittersweet space magic under the guise of artistic integrity, exacerbated by speculation, I have ever seen.

The most irritating part;

They just seem to think we want more closure.

It's called Spacemagi----ooops, artistic integrity. XD

Honesty, it's called why everyone is protesting. We don't want more closure, we want a better ending.

Hold the line, for as long as it takes.

Don't forget Mass Relays go supernova and destroy everything in the system. So every populated sector with a mass relay is now gone.

i got one even worse, depending on which destroy ending you play, the red wave will kill everything it touches and not just the reapers, and the red wave goes WAAAAAAY beyond a relay's detonation range, So Shepard Kills Everybody....

However the one thing i did figure out is that the relay's cores are gone(burned up) in releasing the wave, so the relays blowing up doesnt create a nova, but the cruicible waves do much more damage in either case.

So really +/- its still a bleak situation.

Yes OP. You are correct in all that you pointed out. Which is sad...
Free bump for spreading this obvious truth.

Kelly can survive through the right dialogue choices. As for Ghost-Child, I find it utterly inconceivable that the AI who created the Reapers, who basically IS the Citadel, cannot undo some Prothean sabotage. "The keepers know only respond to the Citadel itself . . ." But you ARE the Citadel.

This basically renders Sovereign completely useless. What the hell is the point of a vanguard when the guy giving the orders is already observing alien species.

I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS HERE!!!

To OP:

Also add in the fact that in the 'best' ending they show/imply that Shepard lives....after beeing blown up in space with no air and surviving re-entry to Earth.

Great post. It summarizes very nicely the aftermath of this nonsensical ending.

I feel that that if the reapers are the servants, harbingers if you will.
Then the catalyst is the devil...maybe???

He's friggin evil, i know that much.

fck a hold the line, I'm going after the human reaper lollll....

But real talk tho? I had to have scanned EVERY SINGLE sector of the galaxy map AND i even wasted my money on Infiltrator so I could get up to 100% galactic readiness (which decayed to 98% within 2 hours). TMS of 6666, EMS of 6599 and all I get is a breath? smh

what makes that worse is in ME-2, that killed you.....

The only parts I dont like, gameplay wise, are the Rannoch Reaper (i died at least 12 times in each playthru), fighting Kai Leng (you hit him with a massive overload from EDI and yourself and he gets to walk around the room taking James Carnage RIGHT in the FACE and just goes "I've been hit, i have to re-charge" fckn bull), and the slow walking at the end of the game, it just takes too long....

Read this is will explain a lot of the issues people are having in a very clear way. How we as fans see these issues in 2 weeks but bioware had years to write this up and it went over their head worries me. They are so far into their own story they don't even see the plotholes anymore.

My issue with the whole "the end sequence is about indoctrination and 700,000 ME fans are just stupid and angry and don't 'get it' (while the geniuses at IGN and Game Informer do?)" thing is this:

99% of the series, I'm not fighting indoctrination. I'm fighting Reaper ground forces, Cerberus agents, Geth and Collectors. Why at the end am I suddenly fighting an indoctrination attempt? All of Saren and TiM's efforts were DIRECTLY in line with Reaper goals. All of my actions have gone against that, the ENTIRE game. Why now am I suddenly under their influence?

yup, it doesn't matter, everyone dies because of the mass relay destruction. unless it was all indoctrination.
