It felt like the leading actor in a series was suddenly replaced and all the other characters pretended that nothing changed.

We have fixed the issue of faces not correctly importing into Mass Effect 3. It will be included as part of the next Mass Effect 3 patch.
A new patch gets heavily tested by BioWare, EA, Microsoft and Sony before it can be released to the public..... If a patch fails during testing, it is sent back, fixed again and retested until it passes. Then it is released to gamers. Until we know that the patch has passed certification testing, I don't want to give even a rough idea of the date, to prevent disappointment should it need further testing.
So I'm sorry I don't have the full answer you all want and are waiting for yet. When I can give you the date when the patch will be available I will.
Thank you for letting us know the issue has been discovered and resolved, and explaining why you can't tell us when we will see it, and a bit about the process.
Could you tell us its current state though?
I'm assuming the patch is currently awaiting Testing results from Microsoft and Sony, but it would be nice to know if it has been revised.
That could give us hope, that additional issues are fixed, and a date we can optimistically create ourselves, then update our optimistic date to a more realistic one as we watch a few iterations occur.

Great news. You know the PC platform does not have a certification requirement, so as soon as EA QA finish their testing I'm sure no one would mind if the PC patch was released without waiting for the PS360 certification.
You are correct, there is no requirement. However, what if they did release the patch to PC early and during certification testing for the consoles, they uncovered another issue and had to fix it? It is possible that those issues are not console specific and would be another bug fix for the PC version.
Then they would have to roll out another PC patch, separate from the consoles, and that adds even more confusion in describing which patches are applied.
I'm actually a bit thankful that the consoles will give extra testing as it helps ensure a solid release.

so, what its the date of this patch, i need have the face of my Female Shepard from ME1
They will not tell us a date until it is ready. My best suggestion is to check back at these threads daily for updates, or check your Bioware Social account Games->Mass Effect 3->Patches
and check that for updates.
I have personally been spending this patch waiting time experimenting with Multiplayer a lot more. I already did the ME 3 single player with a poorly recreated face and don't want to repeat that process for my other Shepard.
I do hope though, that I can apply the fix to a ME3 New Game plus somehow. They allow face editing on New Game +, maybe I can create an import and get the Face Code, then use that for the New Game + run and have a "Correctly" imported Shepard this run.

Well, for now I will just play other great games like Deus Ex, Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim, Vampire Bloodlines (which have 7 different endings ;-)) etc. ;-)

Excellent taste in games sir! VtMB: what a game and a half! Major bugs in that, but post-patched (mostly unofficially) into a nigh-on perfect game. Just went back on it to kill time until they sort ME3 out myself.

one question: Will the pach make it possible to import the mass effect 1&2 default femshep headmesh correctly cause the current import just suck
I certainly hope so because a like for like swap into the current engine won't do.

First i became simply frustrated of this silly bug, but then i just started my old good friend called "google" and i found this workaround:
http://fuckyeah-mass...s-face-into-me3
I hope that they fix the biggest bugs with the next patch and don´t do some "cosmetic changes" at first.
Have fun!

Sweet! Any word on a fix for the bug that stops Morinth from showing up in Samara's place on Leuss properly? That was just an oversight like when Conrad said you pointed a gun at him in ME2, right?
I can't tell if you're serious. Even if they had morinth appear, it wouldn't be there saving her sisters. She's too self involved. You find her later in the game as a Banshee. You probably don't even notice it, but one of the Banshees on earth has Morinth as it's name if you saved her. So... Yeah.

All thanks to console certification we get a 2-3 week old patch on PC at some point.
They should do it like Bethesada with Skyrim (in terms of patching) releasing betas ahead of finals and also before/ paralell to pending console certification. Everything else is basically ****ty for their customers (us) ,..

Is it too much to ask for someone from Bioware giving us an update of some kind?
