Ok, I have what I hope is some good news.

We have fixed the issue of faces not correctly importing into Mass Effect 3. It will be included as part of the next Mass Effect 3 patch.

The not completely good news is that I do not yet have a confirmed date for when the patch will be available. A new patch gets heavily tested by BioWare, EA, Microsoft and Sony before it can be released to the public. We all want to be sure that it fixes the issues it is supposed to fix and doesn't start any new issues (this is called testing or certification testing ). If a patch fails during testing, it is sent back, fixed again and retested until it passes. Then it is released to gamers. Until we know that the patch has passed certification testing, I don't want to give even a rough idea of the date, to prevent disappointment should it need further testing.

So I'm sorry I don't have the full answer you all want and are waiting for yet. When I can give you the date when the patch will be available I will.

Does this mean my ME3 Shep will look EXACTLY the same as my ME1/ME2 Shep or will this fix modify his/her face in some way?

How about a patch that includes Fixed issue where ammo powers activated by a henchman would sometimes overwrite the player's active ammo power for ME3.

Sounds good! while my Shep's face is simple enough to recreate, it would have been nice to be able to carry it over. Same with my other Shep's. So this is appreciated.

Well, it's something.

Now that plans for the ending have been announced, I'm actually looking forward to starting a second play through (something I just haven't been able to bring myself to do since finishing my first game). The bug didn't actually bother me on my first play through because I was going to edit that character's face anyway. The change in texture quality between ME1 and 2 was not kind to him.

The update is much appreciated! It's kid of funny with all these issues - there's a big uproar about the ending, which Bioware has graciously responded to only a few weeks after the game release, but there's also a large segment of players who are waiting or the face fix before even playing the game, so they haven't even seen the ending(s) yet.

Anyway, on both of these fronts I think Bioware has gone above and beyond by responding to fan input.

Will patches address the horrible, horrible Journal system? I can only assume that this is not "functioning as intended".

Thanx for the heads up, I'll be waiting for the update to start my game (I was at mars, so it doesn't hurt to begin again). It's nice to see that you were aware and tried to fix the face import issue (I say try, because I will only say fixed when I can import succesfully my ME2 bro shep's face).

I would imagine the fix would do the same or they would have made sure to fix both anyway that was my interpretation when the issue originally came up.

Excellent! I'll hold off from my 360 playthrough and just play MP for now :D (already finished the game on PC, but only a Paragon playthrough, Saving Regenade for 360).

Yes I agree with many about having a LIST OF ISSUES that MAY be fixed in the next patch. Honestly, the face import is a non-issue and can be manually done. Its the BSOD, MP disappearing items, "gamebreaker" bugs that should get priority.

Waiting for the face import problem to be fixed to play with my Shepard...It's been forever...Man, who would think ME3 would be such a problem? We waited such a long time and had so many expectations...

I personally haven't had any problems with this game performance wise, but for all the effected fans out there, may I just formally give Bioware huge props for being awesome?

Well my main problem isn't really they aren't importing, It's just the game is telling me the serial number is non exsisntant because in MASS EFFECT 2 the serial numbers ARE GONE for a number of my saves (All of my male characters and some of my female). I feel like the problem is with MASS EFFECT 2 and not MASS EFFECT 3. That's the reason I cannot port over my faces sucsessfully and get a message saying that I need to update my face and why it cannot find the serial code.

What I found was that the face codes were just slightly different. The last few numbers in the code use a slightly different setup in ME3.

I literally just copypasted my face code from ME2 into ME3 and that solved any issues there, besides the fact that ME3 no longer contains a vague purple eye color like my original ME1 Shep has.
