Does this mean my ME3 Shep will look EXACTLY the same as my ME1/ME2 Shep or will this fix modify his/her face in some way?

Should be exactly, except for the new graphical enhancements.  My guess is during the import, the game somehow interperts the values of how the face is saved in different ways (maybe there was a change in the way it was saved in ME3 and it was an oversight, or someone made a boo-boo and messed up the translation to a face ME3 would understand?) but now that the game properly reads how the original face looked, it will recreate it in the new game appropriately.  Should be the same (except enhanced) skin textures.

How about a patch that includes Fixed issue where ammo powers activated by a henchman would sometimes overwrite the player's active ammo power for ME3.

I'll 1-up ya, how about a patch where my ammo powers don't randomly deactive even though I don't have any companions with ammo powers?

Jeez its taking you guys forever to release a patch for something thats unacceptable in the first place. Thought at least there would be an update today.

The patch's release lies on the shoulders of Microsoft:

Ok, I have what I hope is some good news.

We have fixed the issue of faces not correctly importing into Mass Effect 3. It will be included as part of the next Mass Effect 3 patch.

The not completely good news is that I do not yet have a confirmed date for when the patch will be available. A new patch gets heavily tested by BioWare, EA, Microsoft and Sony before it can be released to the public. We all want to be sure that it fixes the issues it is supposed to fix and doesn't start any new issues (this is called testing or certification testing ). If a patch fails during testing, it is sent back, fixed again and retested until it passes. Then it is released to gamers. Until we know that the patch has passed certification testing, I don't want to give even a rough idea of the date, to prevent disappointment should it need further testing.

So I'm sorry I don't have the full answer you all want and are waiting for yet. When I can give you the date when the patch will be available I will.

Appreciated. When I first started up the game, I got a little worried when this bug showed up. Besides that the entire game has been bug-free for me. You guys did a great job with this game

Hello Shadowhawk233...  If i am understanding your issue properly the issue isnt with the game..its more the issue with your squadmates power choice. It was set up as the entire squad gets the power at 50% strenght.. try retraing the squadmates powers and choosing the upgrade that is only for them instead. Hope this helps :D

I would say no. Even faces that currently import properly still look different in ME3. The reason is the ME3 uses roughly 200 more 3D points, or vertices, to define the facial shape. ME1 an ME2 used the same head mesh. so the 3d model of the head could be imported straight into ME2.  In ME3, the faces are rendered differently, and rendering the face exactly as it was in ME2 would cause many issues.

Additionally, facial elements, lips, eyes, and hair, are totally different in ME3. For a given code, ME3 renders eyes lower on femsheps, for example. Try it. On ME2, eye height 1 was actually about right for most faces. In ME3, the more realistic eye heights are somewhere in the middle of the range. Also notice that femshep eye shape 8 is very different from what it was in ME2.

Most faces will probably need tweaking even if they import properly.

No, everytime i use ammo power for the entire squad, they overwrite it with one of their own...

I would be happy if my ammo power just stayed on through out the whole mission. Hell, in ME2 the ammo mod would come on automatically at the start of all missions after I started using it.

I did, when it's off, they use ammo powers as defense...

It may be a big patch, patience. I'm sure they're dealing with a lot of other issues as well.

What's the point of releasing it now. Most of us have already just remade our faces or used stock shep and already finished the game. This is coming a month after release. It has already messed up my suspension of disbelief seeing how my Shep has not been able to look correctly. So what, am I going to have to start all over from my ME2 import and play all over again just to have my toon look the same? Doesn't matter you already ruined the story for me no need trying to fix it. This is like turning in your final exam from last semester to your current class. The damage has already been done, no point beating a dead Nihlus.

Bioware, will we have to start over for the patch to fix our character? I got tired of waiting and started the game even though there was the face import glitch. Does this patch help me?

Yes, The fix is suppose to fix when you Import your Character from ME2 to ME3 Character Creator.

Looks like patch only works if you where getting an error message when trying to import your face, other then that it is still broken and doesn't import characters correctly. The PC users got the patch today and most are pretty pissed that the patch is not working correctly, a lot of it has to do with missing facial, color and texture features from ME1 and ME2 not included in the ME3 package.

Already imported here. So I would have to start over to get my Shepard if your take on this is correct. I wish I had seen this announcement earlier, I would have held off starting even longer than I did.
