Downloaded the patch today and I still can't import my characters face.

Are you talking about the PC's "patch" or Resurgence? Last I checked 360 didn't have a patch, and nothing was included (or so it seems) in Resurgence. I tried importing several of my Sheps (both male and female) to absolutely no avail. Default faces for everyone. Judging by the lack of reassurance from Chris, it would seem the 360 patch is still in "testing". I guess I shouldn't assume things, lol

Release date for the 360 and PS3 patch is today and when I started up Mass Effect 3 it disconected and downloaded an update which I assume was the patch.

My mistake, though I wonder why mine didn't download an update. Image IPB

Last one I remember was several weeks ago. Also, you pointed out the Bioware employee DID say it'd be today, soooo I haven't the foggiest idea what's going on. Idt that they'd release a patch that didn't work AT ALL, particularly since they've made a point not to release/set dates for patches that don't work. Maybe, later today? I'm in the USA, not sure if that makes any difference though.

I live in the United States and have no recieved the patch yet. Their was a patch that appeared a few days ago for me but it didn't accomplish anything either. Here I was looking forward to finally starting a second play through with my "real" Shepherd but looks like the wait continues. At least they gave us some cool free Multiplayer DLC (yes I highly enjoy the multiplayer).

Is the patch out yet? I was at the menu/start screen when I received a "disconnected from EA servers" alert. When I logged back in I was informed there was a 4MB update to download... go to import an ME2 save from ME1 to find it's still the same face importing issue. So can I presume the update wasn't the patch? Sigh.

EDIT: Problem solved.

I got the update this morning but it still doesn't import my ME1 and ME2 face. I'm assuming I'm not the only one with this problem.

What occurs when you attempt to import your character appearance?

It says it imported the face but it's the same generic face that shows up regardless if I've played the first two or not. I'm using an Xbox if that helps.

I'm having the same problem still. Both my sheps are reverted to the default/custom shep at the import menu. I know I downloaded the update 15 minutes ago, and still no fix. Anyone else having this problem?

Does your Mass Effect 2 Shepard have a face code?  If so, you may need to delete the face code, using the Gibbed save editor, for the new import routine to attempt to recreate your Shepard's appearance.  The game will always attempt to import an existing face code first; it will only use the new approximation routine if no face code is present.

I'm sorry, what is a "Gibbed save editor"? I'm on Xbox if that helps... I am right now replaying ME2 in search of face code.

Thank you so much for your help, by the by.

Gibbed's save editor is found at http://social.biowar...m/project/4373/

Instructions for extracting and re-importing save files from the XBox 360 version of the game may be adapted from
http://www.gamefaqs....fect-3/62162976

Do NOT follow the full procedure.  The procedure listed is an attempt to fix a different problem.  Follow steps 1 through 11 to extract your save file from your console.  Make backup copies of ALL extracted save files before making any modifications.  Use the Gibbed editor to remove the face code from your save file.  Follow steps 16 through 21 to restore the save file to your console.

It only gives me the option to "Accept Imported Face" or use default or make a new one. I do not have a code for the imported face from ME1. Would it be accessible through ME1? I don't understand how it was so easy to do this from ME1 to ME2 but there is such an issue with importing to ME3.

Downloaded the patch this morning before going to work. My Shep finally imported correctly. Just off of first glances it looks like the hair color is slightly different but it looks like my Shepherd still :-D

Verify that your Mass Effect 2 save has no assigned face code.  This will prevent appropriate appearance recreation.
