Hey guys,
I don't know if it's bad manners to respond to an appreciation thread about yourself but oh well.

Thank you guys so much for the kind words. I know you didn't have to do it, and it means a lot to me to hear it. Possibly I've spent too much time in the PR Machine thread in the past 24 hours and didn't realize that the whole point of the thread is about not trusting people like me :P So I got bummed out and confused when people were picking apart everything I said there.

It's not fair to shut myself off from engaging with the community because a few people momentarily spoiled my good mood and seemingly-endless patience.

I'm trying really hard to do right by you guys and if nothing else, I hope that you guys can look at Ray's post from today and know that the feedback I've been gathering from you great bunch of people didn't just get in the hands of our leads, but it went into the hands of our LEADER.

You guys are swell and I want you to know that I wouldn't do this type of sacrifice my personal life to tweet and converse for ANY other community. This collection of people is special to me.

Hugs,
Jess

P.S. I might soften my line about discussing BioWare on my personal channel, but it's been really nice to talk to some of you guys about puppies and dinosaurs for awhile :)

I want to say while you're looking Jessica - THANK YOU! You've been extremely patient and good to all the fans through this, the positive and not-so-positive. You're an example to all community managers and PR, you connected and maintained the connection despite the personal toll it took on you. I for one think you should maintain your distance for a while and catch your much-needed breath. Anyone would need to, and no one can blame you.

I do hope you will come back to the community in the coming weeks though. BioWare needs more people like you.

I think it's been clear to anyone with an active brain capable of more than one thought at a time (and to be fair, anger/frustration is often capable of emptying my thought of anything besides RAGE) that you are as passionate and care about the ME universe as the rest of us.

I'd like to look past that point, though, because DINOSAURS!  Ok, so, I've always thought that  would be awesome to see Batman on a chain-gun firing T-rex riding a Brontosaurus firing chainguns.

....am I alone in this?

Thank you for being there for us Jessica! As a firm member of the retake movement, it is easy to feel overlooked. It raises morale to know that at least one person is paying attention to us. Thank you once again for all that you are doing!

No, you are not.  So long as the chain-gun fires sharks with lasers.

Jessica,

Thanks for reconsidering your level of involvment.  I know the cynical would claim this is just your job, but I believe you sincerely care and I appreciate that.  Also, I've seen what you're talking about in the PR thread, and I don't know how you kept responding for that long.  At any rate, stay strong out there.

Jess, you can tell Chris that if he needs a hug, he can have one too. Also, I think everyone here might be buying plane tickets and going out for ice cream later in, oh I don't know, how about Denmark? There we will have laughs, think about the good times and possibly climb a mountain. Does Denmark have mountains? We'll figure something out. Also I can't confirm that everyone's on board with that but I'll go ahead and assume that everyone is. DON'T CONTRADICT ME, BSN!!!

@Jessica:

Hey.....Thanks for the support. It's really appreciated even if there are other fans out there ripping apart any kind of statement you guys make. Just don't think everybody is like that.

I'm disappointed in the endings we got is true but the moment people like you start addressing us as fans/customers/people, it gives me hope that we can communicate with each other in a much more productive manner.

I like nothing more than to know our concerns are being heard. That we're not acting "entitled" to anything but that we wouldn't be here if we didn't love the game this much. We're all just really passionate about what Bioware makes and we feel such a personal connection to the story/characters/environment you guys have created.

-Cheers!

If it helps, I'm doing an objective write up of the list of issues with the ending that I'll post in this thread and the main thread.  For right now, I'm going to copy paste something I've posted elsewhere in the hopes that it's included in the feedback that you're passing on to Mr. Hudson.  And for the record, there's no anger in any of what I'm writing, but rather a calm, clear process of giving feedback and constructive criticism.  I'm going to try to condense things as much as possible into a concise list of bullet points, and it's all going to be free from snark or sarcasm.  It'll be as professional as I can make it.

So here's what I have so far:

Posted in the main Hold the Line thread:

We respectfully request BioWare create additional endings be added to the game
which provide:

A more complete explanation of the story events in a manner consistent with the
quality we've come to expect from the Mass Effect trilogy and BioWare.

An explanation of the outcome of the decisions made, especially with regard to the planets, races, and companions detailed throughout the series.

A wider variety of distinct endings which appropriately reflect the spectrum of possible player decisions and Effective Military Strength, from a tragic ending in which the Reapers are victorious to a heroic ending which provides a powerful sense of accomplishment, fulfillment, and closure.

She's a great person and she's doing her absolute best in this situation. She's been placed in a very tough spot by BioWare and I think if she could work space-magic she'd do everything possible to make everyone happy.

I'm also grateful to JM and everyone at Bioware navigating this controversy. I think they've shown they get it, and they're maintaining dialogue. Just doing that is more than they have to do, and part of the reason Bioware's fan base is so dedicated (or rabid, as you prefer) is because the company tries to hold itself to very high standards. Lest I sound sycophantic, I still want better and better diversified endings.

Not to be a melodramatic pessimist, but please, everyone at Bioware, brace yourselves for this to stay ugly for a while. I think it's going to get especially ugly if you make new endings DLC and then don't release it for free. Many will think you don't deserve more money for fixing a mistake. Depending on how much effort goes into new endings, I may be one of those people. I am someone committed to civil discourse, however, and I'm not going to flame/troll if I disagree with how this is handled.

Much worse, I may write walls of text about it. You've been warned. ; )

As someone who has worked in a customer service heavy job, keeping a positive outlook on a normal day can be trying.  Doing it with all the rage and vitriol that has been hanging around here is not easy, and I guarantee that even a little appreciation can help in that sort of situation.

And, again, what's the downside?  We make someone feel happy?

My gripe is with the endings, not the poor PR person bearing the brunt of the force.

Besides, she's prettier than evil Chris.
