I'm not happy with the endings either. And you may not agree with her stance or whatever. That doesn't mean we can't show respect and appreciation when someone shows respect to us and our oppinions. Even if you are suspicious, you don't have to be blatantly rude.

She's the only one actively talking to us from Bioware. Everything else seems preplanned. So while we wait and see what happens its nice to have someone from their side talk to us.

As someone who has worked in a customer service heavy job, keeping a positive outlook on a normal day can be trying. Doing it with all the rage and vitriol that has been hanging around here is not easy, and I guarantee that even a little appreciation can help in that sort of situation.
And, again, what's the downside? We make someone feel happy?
My gripe is with the endings, not the poor PR person bearing the brunt of the force.
Besides, she's prettier than evil Chris.
This bolded bit. This.
Working with the public is difficult on the best of days at times, and even hearing "You are very helpful, thank you!" from someone who means it really can make your day easier. Frankly I'm a bit sick of all the microscopic analyzing and belittling of everything the devs and reps say, and I say this as someone fully unhappy with the endings. She's our liason to the devs, she's compiling our comments, and clearly is here talking to us off the clock at least some of the time, as I know she isn't at work at these hours.
Show at least some appreciation for the fact that there is a human behind that post and that dealing with other humans, especially upset and disappointed ones, isn't easy.

She's still a human being, and she's been doing her best to keep talking to us in spite of the handful of people who have been picking apart every damn thing she says. That kind of stuff would wear anyone out. The fact that she's still here talking to us isn't something to scoff at. She's not "not doing anything."ReynoldsXD3 wrote...

Set the PR stuff aside for a minute. The drawback to atghunter's analysis of BW's PR has been the tendancy for some people to dehumanize people like Jessica, and that crap needs to stop. It's one thing to be wary of BW stalling and deflecting criticism, it's another thing to treat BW like the enemy. They're not. They made the ME series for us, for God's sake, and now they're in the horrible position of having to admit to have made a mistake with the ending of their magnum opus, and yet still have the surface appearance of unity. Rather than turn on them like rabid dogs, we need to be coming to them with clarity of message, firmness of resolve, and an attitude that says, "We love you guys, but you made a mistake here. What you made doesn't live up to your own standard, and we know you can do better."

the ladder, as if they are evil millionaires out to steal your money..
I don't mean to insult Jessica by calling her "low on the ladder" because I don't know anything about her position really, but I'm fairly confident she is not influencing creative decisions behind the game. At the end of the day, all she can do is relay our feedback. She cannot do any more than that, so to take out your frustration on her is just wrong. She doesn't have to go out of her way to engage us like this. She could just keep to herself and say nothing.
Trashing on her is akin to calling the customer service line of your cable company and ripping the person you talk to as if they're the CEO of the company. At the end of the day you're ripping on a person who is just doing their job and because you're so negative, your message reaches nobody.
And p.s., I'm well aware that most of the movement is not doing this. But enough people did it to make Jessica not want to engage the community via Twitter.

I've done tech support, phone support, and oh yeah... ran a small unit of a business that configged and sold private gameservers for like, Counter-Strike and Firearms. So yah, as mentioned by others, fully understand that on a good day you have to be a little nuts to wander into this insanity.
I feel bad about the PR thread. I had no idea things would degenerate there like they did - in hindsight, Ray's letter would of course be a target for dare-we-hope-and-get-burned backlash, and the timing was just bad, and I'm sorry for that

Hey guys,
I don't know if it's bad manners to respond to an appreciation thread about yourself but oh well.
Thank you guys so much for the kind words. I know you didn't have to do it, and it means a lot to me to hear it. Possibly I've spent too much time in the PR Machine thread in the past 24 hours and didn't realize that the whole point of the thread is about not trusting people like meSo I got bummed out and confused when people were picking apart everything I said there.
It's not fair to shut myself off from engaging with the community because a few people momentarily spoiled my good mood and seemingly-endless patience.
I'm trying really hard to do right by you guys and if nothing else, I hope that you guys can look at Ray's post from today and know that the feedback I've been gathering from you great bunch of people didn't just get in the hands of our leads, but it went into the hands of our LEADER.
You guys are swell and I want you to know that I wouldn't do this type of sacrifice my personal life to tweet and converse for ANY other community. This collection of people is special to me.
Hugs,
Jess
P.S. I might soften my line about discussing BioWare on my personal channel, but it's been really nice to talk to some of you guys about puppies and dinosaurs for awhile
Just remember that this whole thing is, for most of us, a bit like a family fight. We're upset at what happened, but at the end of the day, we still love you guys. And you, in particular, have been very helpful in keeping our spirits up.
^ agree, Seriously, If anyone deserves a raise it's her!

I have to give thanks/credit to Jessica too. Moderating a board filled to the brim with (rightfully) angry fans making demands and having arguments, and oh, look who's keeping everything under control without it going totally insane?

I know you're on our side, however I also know that not everyone in Bioware is. We do appreciate the insiders who are on our side like yourself. Unfortunately, it seems a fair few still wanna shut us up and shut us down, but at least that isn't all of you.
