On the other hand she has been largely invisible on here (and I was under the impression that given her job she should have been visible) so I wouldn't commend her either. The only thing she can really do at the moment is to collate and convey feedback to the devs. Since this is behind the scenes we really don't know how good of a job she is doing.

Nope, Community manager and Forum moderator are different things.  There are mods on here.  Jessica is on twitter, reddit, facebook, going out and meeting fans etc, as well as being here occasionally.

We must thank not only Jessica, but all the great professionals that worked with passion into shaping the Mass Effect trilogy into what it is, it must be disheartening for them to see how the ending is now overshadowing it all, and it's really not fair.

Their work is not losing any value. So thank you, sincerely.

I agree that the rest of the team have been patient too but I think that Jessica went a bit further. A bit above and beyond actually.

It's nice to see someone with at least a somewhat sympathetic ear from BioWare. Thanks, Jess.

+1

Like a loyal fan, I was pretty disappointed when I saw the endings in BioWare especially because we've seen them deliver so much better than what we saw in ME 3's endings. Although I'm pleased the majority of the community hasn't responded in this fashion, there are a few fans though who'll just lash out at anything BioWare says/suggests. This is unfair to Jessica who:

a) didn't come up with the endings
B) is trying to help us
c) has been very tolerant and receptive to our feedback

Thanks, Jessica! You've been really sweet throughout this whole thing. Like I said before, don't let the haters get you down! Most of us appreciate the fine work you've been doing.

Great thread. Handling angry customers can get into your head. I must be difficult not to get influenced by that and to stay calm and friendly.
I would also like to extend my thanks to the whole ME3 team. They have created the most immersive game that I have played in my life.
Unfortunately, they forgot to include an ending. I only saw some hallucanation aof my shepard (all of them actually). I want to know what happens after that.

I want to thank Jessica as well, but also Priestly as well as Jarrett Lee. Priestly for allowing us for more or less having our discussions and criticisms without lockbanning everything and everyone and Jarrett for being what appears to be honest and pretty open with us as well. I know these last two weeks have been hard on them as well as us players.

All that said, there is still much to be done besides just an interpreted apology and acknowledgement of the problems. Until they are fixed, this is a nice and needed first step towards recovery, but only the first step.

I think Stanley Woo deserves some of the love too.  There are a LOT of threads in here right now that he could've easily closed due to the forum rules, but hasn't.  He's been a lot more even-handed than he's given credit for, even when under fire in some threads.

In short, a big ol' thanks to all of the forum moderators, community managers and, YES, the ME3 development team.  The endings are disappointing to a lot of us, but let's not forget that there was a lot of game before them. :)

The hate for her is annoying. She's gone above and beyond what she has to do. 1,000 tweets a day takes a lot of time. 1.44 tweets a minute. You know she isn't tweeting the entire 24 hours. That's a lot of damn tweets here people.

To quote the OP:

"It isn't that she is doing her job.

It is that she is doing her
job at 200%. I mean no one should expect to go to work and deal with a
torrent of abuse (which she had to at the beginning on twitter), but she
handled it with grace and aplomb.

Is there something wrong with thinking that she deserved a mention for that?
"

She's been tweeting like crazy.

No.  We're praising her for doing her job, and then continuing to do it when she's "not on the clock".

Fair enough. Skimmed over the thread, so, yeah.

I was under the impression that the BSN is Biowares main interaction with fans. If not their main form it's certainly a big one and probably the best place for fans to give feedback. They are getting thousands of posts per hour. Why should the community manager ignore this? I suspect you are wrong and she reads a lot on here but hasn't posted much.

Agreed the Bioware community staff have been doing a good job during this difficult time and I thank them for their efforts.

Hopefully something good can now come out of all this.

Keep holding the line.

She is a good person. But I'm afraid I will have to be wary about her until we get the endings the series needs. Then, I will gladly give all the thanks she deserves.

I hate to say it but I agree. I wont and dont think anyone else really needs to attack her. But as far as Im concerned she is still with the opposition so forgive me if I dont show sympathy yet or thank her for any response she gives. Right now the best path for me personally is to remain cautious of anything anyone from Bioware states until there is a fix to the ending of ME3. Only once that happens will I be able to allow myself to see Bioware as someone who truly cares about their constumers and not just posting things as a PR stunt to shut people up. Sympathy is the best way for Bioware to get fans to leave the RetakeME movement and maybe even switch to the other side completely.

Am I accusing Jessica of this? No, more than likely she probably isnt, but that doesn't mean its not a possibility. Thats why I still feel I need to excercise caution so I, myself, am not swayed. Once this is over I will go back to thanking her for all she has done and feeling bad for her for what she had to go through. Despite her intentions what she is doing is commendable. I'll give her that.

Hold the Line

And doing it without ever coming off as condescending or insincere.

I still hold the line.

Jessica has been doing an outstanding job, and I'll be honest, if I were in her position I don't think I could continue to be as polite as she has been. Seriously.
