Did you used to post on the Bioware forums often before you Watched/Heard/Read about Mass Effect 3's ending?

http://social.biowar...46/polls/30235/

Reply to topic to keep it bumped. Lets get Bioware some useful Statistics for our behaviors.

From Jessica Merizan community manager

2B) My intention to that person was to say that more people need to vocalize their opinion, positive or negative. When we insulate ourselves in tight-knit communities, it's harder to see that most people aren't doing that. Not the same most people however, just most people in different situations. An example I used is the 90-9-1 principle or the 1% rule (which is all over the internet and I studied it during my master's coursework in media consumption at University College London, namedrop intentional as people have recently accused me of being unable to read and interpret statistics or data, something I'm very good at and pride myself on).

3) The above rule is quite simple. 90% of consumers will passively engage in the product through consumption (such as playing a video game). They might lurk on forums or read articles. 9% of these people will take it a step further and actively engage in discussions and talk. These are the people that you rely on for WOM sales (word of mouth). They'll "like" a post on Facebook, share it to their wall, reply to a forum thread, RT or reply to something on Twitter. Then you have people who take it one step further and create content based on the original product. These are your fan artists, cosplayers, and even as simple as someone who starts a forum thread or makes a youtube video.

Lets see if that holds true. I am thinking things have changed since the ME3's ending. I used to be a lurker but now I am active.

---- Update ----

Yes = Frequently used forums before ME3
No = Did not frequently use forums before ME3

So I have been watching it from the start and have noticed a pretty resilient trend. Since we got about 20+ people voting the ratio has been an almost constant (Yes)1:4(No) with a 5% variation. Even as the numbers increased it stayed around (Yes)20% and (No) 80%

If the 90/9/1 bit that Jessica wrote is true then the 20% (Poll) would represent the 10% (9+1) that participated in discussions on the forum before this event.  That is a normal forum participation ratio

The 80% (poll) would mean that since ME3 has been released the Lurkers/repliers/starters has changed to 50/45/5 (Keeping same ratio). Jessica said that 20% forum participation is off the charts and it just jumped to 50% participation! I think that these numbers show that something has definitely changed recently and it has made more people participate in Mass Effect Discussions. I am sure we all know what sparked this beyond ME3 being released.

333 participants is a very good sample size, lets see if we can get 1000 voting in this thing. Statistics do not lie and NO one can deny unbiased polls. About a week ago I seen a poll about the endings and I thought it had 30,000 votes in it. I think we have enough statistics for a good argument to be made.

Link doesn't work, but I actively avoided this place like the plague until I felt like I needed to confirm that I wasn't the only one scratching my head in complete befuddlement.

I joined after I finished the game to see if I was a rare one, that thought the ending was a disaster.

I hadn't spent any time here prior... checked it out after I'd finished the game to see if anyone else hated the ending as I did.

Joined in 2009 but made my first post 2 days ago. It's hard to stay silent when your favorite franchise is destroyed by 10 minutes of bad ending. Now i'm proudly holding the line.

I made a few posts on the multiplayer forum before I finished the campaign, but I never came to this forum or posted anything here before I finished. Now I post here a few times a day at least.

When I was on the Geth/Quarian missions I thought I would check out the forums and see how many people think this game is awesome. I went to the forums and O_O people hate it?! why?!

I read a little and got depressed as I read Bioware killed my favorite game series ever made. I didn't want to finish the game afterwards. That is hard because I love reading spoilers about my games.

Before January I had only come here to register games. Before March I only came to gawk at my Dragon Age profiles.

I've had a few interactions on BSN before the Endings, but I generally tried to avoid the place.  My feelings over the endings have overriden any previous consderations.

Been a silent lurker on and off, mostly way, way off. Only when pondering about stuff did I search for answers here, but this with the ending brought me here, once I realised I was not alone.

I did not post here frequently but I did post here after I finished ME2 and made many positive posts about that game, probably as many as negative posts I've made about ME3.

I used to post only spradically, but I tended to lurk more often than not. It is quite safe to say that my activity skyrocketed after I played the ending. :P

Hardly even came onto the forums until I got to that ending. I wanted to see what I had done wrong. Then I discovered it was the ending that was wrong.

I posted here before quite a lot after playing Mass effect 2.
I stayed away because of the spoilers, I didn't want to see any in any shape or form.

I got my account to register Mass Effect 2. I only started posting after I finished Mass Effect 3 but I read more about the endind than posting about it. I post about the game in general (like loving Tali/Shep flirts).

Joined this forum as a direct result of my disappointment in the ending.
