You have to use the renegade options and take the renegade interrupt.

Garrus was amazing throughout the game but his goodbye... just... wow.

Mordin's Scale itch research comment was amazing, as was everything Mordin related. Even though I liked him more in ME2. Just watched the mistake line on youtube, great delivery there!
