"Some of the criticism that has been delivered in the heat of passion by our most ardent fans, even if founded on valid principles, such as seeking more clarity to questions or looking for more closure, for example – has unfortunately become destructive rather than constructive. We listen and will respond to constructive criticism, but much as we will not tolerate individual attacks on our team members, we will not support or respond to destructive commentary."

Is this negative feedback coming from twitter? The community has been very civil for the large majority of postings and even punitive against people saying outrageous things. Are they allowing the trolls to be considered the norm for complainers? I believe so.

OP. Cheer up dude, we WON.

No we haven't, we don't even know what the fix will entail.

A balance between the current ending and our feedback.

pretty much what Aedan276 said they will just fix the plot (for instance show joker picking up the squad, show why Joker decided to run, more dialogue with starchild, show your decisions having consequence and have in Casey's own words closure.

But I do not think the statement was bad at all granted it was negative at times towards the fans but you would be if you were being criticised and having some fans being overly aggressive to them (i hope the vast majority were not being so) I think everyone is just grateful they have announced what they intend to do and it should calm the storm for now.

Just hope they fix it as best as they can because I will hate to see what happens if the fix fails. (I doubt it will happen but just hoping for the best situation but planning for the worse case scenario)

What the hey? Really?

I was heartened to see the Doc's letter, eyerolled a bit at the not-unexpected citation of high reviews, and impressed by two commitments in a statement he HAD to know would be ripped apart and over-analyzed: saying that issues "would be addressed," and committing to a time frame of April.

I also think the major issue is the extreme disconnect between what was advertised, and what I bought; that the ending, on its own merit, is just awful (sorry, guys); and that I think something a little too clever was about to be attempted, but just badly mishandled all around.

I think a lot of other details conspired to make this a disaster: disconnect from the original promise and vision of the series, the poor choice to place a BUY DLC ad right after the bewildering ending sequence, etc., that fanned the fire. I very much hope to see, not an "explanation" or "more closure" but a real ending. I would expect, as a customer, to get the product I was sold.

Keep that in mind when I say: I was very glad to see this statement today, and I feel on the balance it is good news. Most of all, it is not SILENCE, which is what most of us have been really upset about lately, yes? It is not "wait indefinitely," it is a time frame; and it is committing to making changes based on feedback - even if we don't know the scope or depth of those changes yet.

I am not remotely offended; I am cautiously optimistic.

Hold the line!
