In the span of the last few hours the the forums have devolved into everything the true Mass Effect Retakers have feared. Instead of coming back with constructive criticism & civil responses as the vast majority of the posts have been over the past two weeks people are coming out & posting personal attacks against Bioware staff members & using denigrating language to describe BW as a whole.

I get it your angry, I'm angry too... But going after BW like some hopped up 4chan troll is not going to get you what you want.

The Retake/Take Back/Hold  the Line movement got this far in large part because it did not devolve into these sorts of posts & discussions. If you want to increase the chances of seeing a real change to the Mass Effect 3 ending then calm down & start making posts of value, offering constructive criticism & reasoned response. If you can't bother to do that don't post at all.

The entire push back against BW could go down in flames because some people can't grow up, even just a bit. Before you post the millionth thread on how bad the endings are (And they are bad) make sure you aren't going to chuck all the goodwill the movement has built into the toilet.

For what it's worth, we understand that the hostility and vitriol are from an (extremely) vocal minority. As with any such situation, there are those who take it too far, but it isn't reflective of the group as a whole.

You did not just call us a minority.

I know you didn't.

vocal doesn't mean just typing in all caps on this fourm.

Go look at your games user ratings on amazon etc. They are plummeting through the floor. The game is already on sale, its being fully refunded on origin. Don't you dare call us a minority. That makes light of the issue and makes it something you can sweep under the carpet.

And yes I am mad and insulted at the same time.

You may want to re-read what I said. Are you one of the people making personal attacks and throwing around vitriol? No? Then you aren't part of the 'minority'.

I never referred to the movement as a minority, just those who are taking it too far. Simmer down.

Why not just come out and say that nothing will be announced until PAX East? This typical Bioware PR vagueness and denial is doing nothing but pissing people off. Oh and the lie filled post by Jarett about MP not being required is effectively a salt box taped over an open wound.

Poor thing. Do you want mommy to kiss that booboo?

This is entirely inappropriate. If you can't be respectful, then don't post.

One and only warning.

If you want to see an honest response, look at Bethesda's response to FO3...

Which took them months to make and was not the first in their list of priority. There's no 'enemy' in this scenario, old boy. This isn't a battle and nor ought it be. It's a consumer / developer conflict that we'll see how will resort by petitioning and by being expressive in our grievances with the product.

Please, be more thoughtful about the issue and give up on idle anger - fuel that rather with the intent to express what you want them to do, rather than shouting about how '****' they are.

No, this is not correct. Only by polarizing and forcing the issue, can we achieve something. They're trying to pacify us, but we should not be pacified. The moment they succeed in pacifying us, is the moment this movement will die and be blown apart like dust in the wind.

Here's the thing. I can't speak for the ME team, but I can tell you that the criticism we were the most receptive to following DA2's launch was the criticism presented in a constructive fashion. Soon as the personal insults and vitriol comes out, we're far more likely to ignore what's being said. Tone matters.

We're not trying to pacify anyone, but we -are- asking that people remain respectful, towards each other and towards the developers. This is not new. This is something we've asked for since the beginning. Those who aren't able to follow the rules will not be participating in the forums anymore. That goes for both sides of the argument.
