I'm currently refraining myself from posting in such topics.

Too much vitriol flows through the forum right now. And it needs to stop.

No one's gonna take us seriously if you cannot stay civil.

Unfortunately, we do not accept the "control" (or blue) option, and cannot directly influence the actions of others. We can only calm ourselves. Hopefully BioWare will not punish US for the rash behavior of others.

That being said, I would attribute most of the rage we're seeing to the feeling of being betrayed by the company. It is understandable. But try to be more sensitive if you can. After all, they haven't OPENLY come out and said anything dickish yet. Maybe implied it, but that is PR stuff and it's going to be cryptic regardless of their plans. Wait until they come out and really communicate with us. Until then, hold the line and don't abandon hope.

I couldn't agree more. People really need to chill. As it is I'm more disappointed than angry. The only way we'll "win" and hold the line is if we be calm, respectful, provide constructive criticism, and be patient.

In the span of the last few hours the the forums have devolved into everything the true Mass Effect Retakers have feared. Instead of coming back with constructive criticism & civil responses as the vast majority of the posts have been over the past two weeks people are coming out & posting personal attacks against Bioware staff members & using denigrating language to describe BW as a whole.

I get it your angry, I'm angry too... But going after BW like some hopped up 4chan troll is not going to get you what you want.

The Retake/Take Back/Hold  the Line movement got this far in large part because it did not devolve into these sorts of posts & discussions. If you want to increase the chances of seeing a real change to the Mass Effect 3 ending then calm down & start making posts of value, offering constructive criticism & reasoned response. If you can't bother to do that don't post at all.

The entire push back against BW could go down in flames because some people can't grow up, even just a bit. Before you post the millionth thread on how bad the endings are (And they are bad) make sure you aren't going to chuck all the goodwill the movement has built into the toilet.

Well, it's more like Retake Mass Effect got trolled by Dr. Troll. Dr. Troll said something like "yeah, a bunch of people are angry, but most people like it. So, we'll do something for you, so you can all just shut up."

And now Retake is deciding how to respond to it.

1. I haven't seen any personal attacks

2. I feel the crazy fan gushing and outcry did more for this movement than any of the formal open letters the movement is posting.

It has in some parts.  I, personally, gave what I believe to be constructive criticism, but I am sure they will ignore it...

I honestly dont understand whats going on, BW finally says theyre actually working on it, instead of just listening and people go even angrier >_>?

Now thats weird, i mean, ive been angry at BW enough to want to..... do.... things to them, and one of the things thats made me so angry was their absolute silence about the matter.
They finally said something that was not COMPLETE pr and even so theres people angry....

Please someone explain me why -_-?

Largely because people at this point who are invested won't accept anything other than the words "There will be ending DLC"

I don't particularily blame them, but after the PR nightmare and prerelease comments it's easy to understand how people are skiddish.

That being said what needs to happen now is people stay constructive, positive, and maybe throw a few "Well bioware better actually be doing DLC and not some short story that explains the endings that doesn't get incorporated into the game" threads just to point out we haven't gone anywhere.  But if anything this all but declares that there will probably be an announcement at PAX.  (Or at least an announcement of an announcement)

What we also need to be careful is silencing our friends . We don't want to do that . Voices collecting and rising to a crescendo is music to a Rachni Queen's ear . Therefore , I would suggest for all of you who are trying to calm your colleagues down (which is noble and good) , find clever ways of engaging that energy into something constructive .

Let us find a way to have fun and laugh and express our anger and our voices without demeaning persons . If we must lash out , then let's do it in safe places such as on our facebook accounts , twitter , tumblr , etc .

Let the world know how bad it is if they ban us from doing it here . If they don't want us being angry here , let's be angry enough to get people to not buy this game .

For what it's worth, we understand that the hostility and vitriol are from an (extremely) vocal minority. As with any such situation, there are those who take it too far, but it isn't reflective of the group as a whole.

Well, if you read carefully Ray's letter, there is still no firm commitment to issue what we actually want : new endings that live up to our expecations toward the game. Besides, the letter has not been posted on BW official website but on ray's blog. So nothing is official, nothing is commited.

However, I fully agree with the topic of this thread : we must be patient, we must stay coll headed and civil, whilre remaining determined. As such, we should avoid any rude or abusive comment toward BW staff and people in general.

Remember, BW's staff are neither the bad guys, nor the good guys : they are just employees doing their job, one of them being incidently to PR a response to this outcry.

So stay calm, civil and focused. Not our anger, but our determination will get us to prevail.

I sure hope your superiors know that.  It didn't sound like it from the way Mr. Muzkya phrased it.

While I loved the game and the ending. I appreciate Bioware for knowing the problem is a loud minor one

Hmmm... Not sure where you got that from.

I read it that they felt they had put out their best work to date then found that their most loyal and passionate fans thought the endings sucked so they're working on providing some addtional content to clarify and expand on them and provide more closure, which we should get more details about in April.

That's what you say now, but the media and the rest outside see it differently.

Each time someone in the movements "takes it too far", they will use it to reinforce their argument and try to paint us off as "whiners with entitlement issues". And with the amount of vitriol flowing through the forum now, it is only going to get worse for us.

I don't see this end well.

It's a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy. When you between the lines suggest they're just some bacteria when compared to 'professional' critics, people will respond aggresively and will act upon... perhaps a little space magic can brighten things up! :wizard:
