For what it's worth, we understand that the hostility and vitriol are from an (extremely) vocal minority. As with any such situation, there are those who take it too far, but it isn't reflective of the group as a whole.

Maybe it's because I'm tired right now, had a long day, or am full of wishful thinking...but seeing a Bioware employee say this makes me very appreciative. It tells me that (1) they're not looking for a reason to just ignore us, (2) they've paid close enough attention to realize that their core fans are displeased with the ending, but hold no ill-will towards individuals at Bioware, and (3) Bioware actually is paying attention.

I'm looking forward to seeing what solution they come up with.

You did not just call us a minority.

I know you didn't.

vocal doesn't mean just typing in all caps on this fourm.

Go look at your games user ratings on amazon etc. They are plummeting through the floor. The game is already on sale, its being fully refunded on origin. Don't you dare call us a minority. That makes light of the issue and makes it something you can sweep under the carpet.

And yes I am mad and insulted at the same time.

You may want to re-read what I said. Are you one of the people making personal attacks and throwing around vitriol? No? Then you aren't part of the 'minority'.

I never referred to the movement as a minority, just those who are taking it too far. Simmer down.

This.

Please, everyone calm the **** down!

Well, it's understandable that the more time passes, the more people will go crazy, rage out and ultimately leave the movement. That happened since day one to be honest.
Just hold the line as Marauder Shields teached us, and thank you John.

We appreciated the comment John and I would also like to apologize for my rage in the first week this game was released.

Is reporting you to the FTC and BBB "taking it too far"? Because those organizations were created specifically for what your company was doing. If you consider people who did that to be "going too far", then you are already discredited.

Calm down everyone.

Hold the line.

It's that simple.

I agree. Thing is, people are also using about 10 threads at the same time on the same topic instead of making his/her point in an intended thread. Alot of opinions and suggestions are lost that way. I really got tired of the people using "holding the line" as a punchline without having anything else to add to it, so I just had to vent it all out. Can be read here <social.bioware.com/forum> if anyone is interested.

I'm glad you guys realize this. I hate that so many people are resulting to ill tactics and being disrespectful and beyond.

I just wish everyone would quit pretending that our actual group is a minority, though.
There are incredibly few people who support the ending. Personally, it's driven most of my friends away from the game (entirely) and I'm having to pick and choose randoms to befriend in order to play the MP with because so many were disgusted with the SINGLE player portion.

According to IGN, that would make them minority of minority

I apologize in advance, that we must take the fight to such level, but devotion for ME series gives us no other choice. And there are always people throwing words and insults carelessly, internet after all. I apologize for them as well. "These are interesting times".

1. I haven't seen any personal attacks

2. I feel the crazy fan gushing and outcry did more for this movement than any of the formal open letters the movement is posting.

Really? Because I've certainly seen people demand that Mac Walters be fired buried in one or two past threads, not to mention the one rather unseemly post by a guy who said something offensive enough about Mac that I'm just not going to type it again - not even with the bit that that idiot censored out himself (it didn't take rocket science to figure out what expletive the guy intended to use).

Thats not what he said, read the whole post not just one line. He said that the people who take it too far by blasting creators facebooks and twitters and being generally violent and aggresive are the vocal minority within the Retake movement.

Dont jump to conclusions to make us look worse.

I got an idea use a different forum to go and talk **** I'm trying to stay away from this forum as much as possible. Though my only thought is I want the Ending to be changed back to what it was supposed to be namely Dark Energy plot and Harbinger. Multiple endings can be spawned off from that. I simply don't understand where this god child came from it doesn't fit.

Please read what he posted before blowing up like a Cain people :P

It was kinda obvious the minority he was referring to was those that are hostile. Not referring to the whole group of people who would like different ME3 endings.

John thank you for responding.  I for one really appreciate it.  I'd hate to be in your shoes becuase this mess isn't your fault and you're taking the bullets.

To the rest of you.  He's not defending anything.  He didn't write anything.  He didn't decide any of the things we are angry/upset about, unless he's secretly someone else from Bioware... just kidding, so don't vent at him.

He was clearly referring to the people that are directing personal insults that are unrelated to the issue towards the people from Bioware, not their actions, or their actions as they relate to the game, or the game itself.

I take today's news as a step in the right direction. I do not understand people's negative reation that's it's just all PR spin. They said they were, still are, listening. Now when they speak, people get up-in-arms about it? No, CONTINUE TO REMAIN CIVIL. Continue to remain constructive in feedback.

Continue to Hold The Line in the most respectful way

Ignore people engaging in personal attacks or breaking site rules.

Better still, PM a moderator to report the offense. (Do not use the "Report" button, as is this goes to EA and does not alert the community moderators here, even the official BioWare mods.)

Then take a deep breath and march on.

Also thanks Mr. Epler for commenting. This is the first time a developer of any kind has commented on any post for any game. /squee

I have friends who work for Sony Santa Monica & Valve & I have a friend of the family who was offered a job at BW Austin during TORs development period (He decided to stay at Apple... /sadface)

You're just people trying to provide the best gaming experience you can & you made what we the fans feel to be a mistake. We hope we can work with you in correcting that mistake.

For the record I'm coming up on my 2nd play through & I still can't make it through Thane's death w/out shedding a tear. How many video games are moving enough that they can move a player to tears?
