It's not the fact that she's really scantily clad that bothers me, so much as that she was raised in and living in the forest during the point in the story when you meet her. I find it very difficult to imagine her running around in the woods, shapeshifted or not, wearing nothing more than a nipple sash and a leather skirt thing. I mean she should be covered in scratches and scars, not to mention that her breasts should be sagging to her navel being that she isn't wearing a bra of any kind (okay, you can take her clothes off and you'll see that she's wearing underwear, but while she's wearing her normal outfit it seems like she isn't wearing a bra at all).

Also, I understand that lead female characters in most videogames are dressed sparingly because the majority of people who play videogames are largely male and the developers are obviously catering to a male audience. Once again, that's fine. I just find it hard to believe that Morrigan can do what she does without getting seriously hurt or killed. In addition to that, I don't find her outfit in the least bit sexy, so much as I just find it trashy and kind of out of character for her (not to mention really amusing---I wish that there was some way to put those "robes" on Oghren or Alistair just for laughs).

You're assuming that's how she's always dressed. That could just be a special outfit for your character's benefit.

...you must be male, and have not had much experience with our feminine counterparts.

Witholding from bra-wearing does not make breasts sag, at least not until much later.

Secondly, she's a mage...i'm sure she can pop a shield around her to take care of those measly brambles in the forrest, or just heal them when it happens. Ever read the Wheel of Time series? Female "mages" there would use magic (ok, for those that read, i know it was more of a mental thing, but it drives the point home) to stop sweating or feeling cold, stop getting wet, etc.

Seriously...it's a game, treat it as such. In fact, with all the Morri hate in your post, i'd assume that you have something FOR her and you're just peeved because you can't undress her the way you want.

Go for Flemeth if you want saggyness ;p

(btw, you can get the nudie mod project to show "nippes/teets", although it's just the bra image that's be re-skinned, lol).

I've run around in the forest wearing naught but shorts and a tank top for five days straight, with no food/water/shelter/first aid kit/etc. And i turned out just fine. (no, i won't talk about it, but yes it happened).

No, I'm a girl, but one who just happens to not be very curvaceous :P

I actually liked Morrigan quite a bit, regardless of her clothing. I just thought the outfit was really ridiculous. And yes, I am aware of the fact that it is a game, but that doesn't stop me from imagining what it would/might be like realistically.

That is true, but that can be said about any kind of media, be it a movie, a videogame or just a novel.

I'll agree that the outfit is ridiculous, and that it made me think less of the character, and of the writers/designers/marketingfolks who put her in it.

I happen to think it's a sexy look. It may appear trashy because of how revealing the outfit is, but Morrigan is an innocent, and has not been raised around men, so I tend to assume that this is just a style that she finds appealing for her own sense of fashion, and is not a show she's putting on for someone else.

The bra/no bra thing bugged me a bit, too. Obviously the intent was to not have full frontal nudity and receive a rating on the game that would keep it out of the hands of many potential players, but it seems like it could have been handled a bit differently, like with a different cut of bra or something that would make sense for the outfit. (Although I know finding a bra that works with the relatively conservative shirts that I wear can be challenging enough, so maybe poor Morrigan gave up. :P) When my husband's character was getting intimate with Morrigan, I was like, "Where was that bra five minutes ago!?" He replies without missing a beat, "She put it on because she thought I would like taking it off of her, she's really a very considerate lover." So there you have it. :)

Also... When I was playing the human noble origin story, and woke up in the middle of the night, I was like, "Oh, Talin (my character) and Morrigan buy their underwear at the same store." My roommate was like, "Oh yes, she mentioned that she saw you there the other day." We make our own fun over here, I suppose.

As far as the no cuts/scratches thing, consider many other movies and video games. Whenever fight scenes occur, there is a distinct gender bias in how damage is received. Guys get bruised and bloodied, gals get their clothing ripped. I would guess this is a combination of wanting to thrill the male audiences, and of being less comfortable showing the results of violence against women. If Morrigan was male, she would indeed be covered with scratches and scars from her rough days in the wilds. Since she is female, however, perhaps it is only her clothing that has taken damage, shredding and leaving her with the "nipple sash and leather skirt thing."

I have officially overthought this now. ^_^

My only problem with her outfit is that I keep hearing how cold and harsh Ferelden is yet she's wearing something I'd imagine for much warmer weather.

I usually lose her initial outfit pretty quick for robes or armor with better stats.  Still, she manages to look quite busty even in heavy chain mail.

Lol.  I totally though you were going to say she could pop up a shield bra.  Like some king of arcane sports bra that is invisible but still provides ample support.

Ah yes, the well-known Shield Bra.:P

...actually, that would explain a lot.

I was hoping that it'd have more the feel of the concept art for Morrigan's clothes. While I'm a female, I want all my characters looking their best ... after all it's an RPG game. ;-)~ The top is not as bad as the skirt she is wearing. I see where there could be improvements but I think they wanted to give her that harsh appeal/look.

I am possibly going to make Morrigan a new outfit changing her skirt color a bit I think. I've already made a new character face model for my own character and Medium Armor Set and bow.

My only complaint was that she should be substantially more tanned from living outdoors. But I guess pasty white skin goes with smeared-on purplish goth makeup, or something.

She actually discusses this, at length, with Leliana.

Yes, and she complains that Leliana is staring at her breasts. I mean really, it's like they're all up in your face---you don't have a choice.

The lack of tanning I think can be attributed to the murky/cold climate fairly beliveably - and some people are just naturally very pale no matter what.

While her outfit might not give you the impression that she is a "wild child", I think it does complement her witchiness.

Yes, and they usually suffer from horrible sunburns whenever exposed to daylight for too long. In addition to her shield bra, perhaps she has some kind of special sunblock made out of elfroot or whatever.

Actually, Morrigan does have a bra. And I'm not talking about the 'nude female model' bra abomination. It's a small thing made out of skin-coloured triangles, a bit like a small bikini top. The cords and pearl-strings in the middle of her chest actually connect these two pieces of cloth.

And before you go 'ooh! Perv!', I simply have an eye for detail.

As for her general clothing, more skin-covering stuff might indeed be a better protection against the forces of nature, but I did a good search of the Wilds while looking for Rigby's lockbox. I didn't find a tailor's shop, nor an outdoors outlet, so I honestly wouldn't know where she would get her clothes, other than what she could make from rags left by the Chassind in the wilds. I consider her lucky to have found enough to make a pair of long trousers.

I'm naturally very pale, and I rarely suffer from sunburns. Only when I stay out for a looong time and wasn't careful with the lotion.

I can vouch for this. I come in two shades: nearly translucent white or horribly sunburned. :?

I don't agree that this game was made for male in priority. There's actually a lot of material for woman .

For instance .. I found the sex scene when you play has a female character to be much more pleasant than when you play has a male. It's probably a girl that made all of the romance stuff with allistair..because the male cutscene (kiss and sex scene) are just plain bad.

It's simply much more romantic (I'm a guy and hetero btw) ..At least you don't have to see the horrible male PC face looking like a retard with the npc on top of him and the horrible bra.The Kiss part was also much more better. Some of us man .. are very romantic.

and morrigan does ahve a bra but something very tiny. You have to look carefully at her breast detail.

The sex scene with my female pc and allistair i though it's was much better than with my male and morrigan.I was like .. Hmm for a first time allistair know wth he's doing .. While with morrigan i was laughing the whole time.

That's interesting.  I've never played as a female MC.

I wonder if the scenes could be modified to have the PC/NPC swap roles, and use the "female" scene with a male main character.  I might have to look into that if it truly is done better.
