I don't feel any regret when I kick you from a gold game.

Yes I'm talking to you mr N7 rating <50 and trying with a character at level 15 or less and rocking your crappy SMG or Mantis on a class it just doesn't belong.

I seriously don't see why certain people even try to do gold with terrible gear/characters/experience.

I've seen players with level 20 characters and N7 rating higher than 100 and still fail at gold miserably.

cool story bro. Maybe it shows you can't be good without the help of
Someone else holding your hand ;)

please dude. You need a team to play gold. You have to have at least 2 people in a lobby who have the right classes and are experienced in gold in order to beat it. Anything less in an unfair strugle for the person/persons who have experience playing gold. Even with 2 experinceed players it's unfair, because they'll have to carry the unexperienced players through the game. it's unfair

A remark about N7 ratings. Do not value them too high. I have a N7 rating of around 58, but that is for experience derived from buying packs. I never played any other char then my two soldiers G.I. Joe und G.I. Jane. I created some more chars to see what skills and properties they have. I have a level 14 krogan sentinel I never played but he adds to my N7 rating.

See thats the thing. You feel that your ready to play gold because you have a level 20 soldier that you do very well with and you've played around with a few characters. I personally would say your not ready. If your the last guy left alive in a gold match, your level 20 soldier that you have all this experience using, isn't going to survive. I've beaten gold about 50 times (not counting losses) and  know that it would take a miracle for a soldier to survive a round on it's own. And thats just a regular round, an objective round is so much harder. Unless your playing with a group of strong friends that play gold all the time, you shouldn't go into a gold match with a character unlesss you kno you can survive a round when your teamates all die. By jumpin into gold with a character that can't do that, your forcing the rest of the team to carry you through the match. Personally I'm tired of carrying players who are not ready through gold. it's unfair

if he is in that situation it might be because he is doing (at least atm) better than his 3 dead friends. in this case you should have been more concerned with them.

I miss when people actually used to play games.

If someone below level 6 joins a lobby for a gold game I usually use the mic to tell them to try bronze or silver first. If someone is below level 12 I advise them it's a gold game, in case they didn't realise, but I don't mind having them on the team if gold is what they intended.

I give more leeway to people with high N7 ratings (200+) due to their equipment and (hopefully) acquired skills.

ITT: Elitists

I kick people from my Gold games all the time. It's no big deal. And if I'm playing solo and I get kicked from a game, I don't get offended; they may just want room for their friends.

You know what's unfair? Making unfounded assumptions about what other players are capable of. I routinely play Gold with classes and weapons the "elite" around here are saying are worthless, and I consistently hold my own.

Look, I totally understand the frustration of being matched up with random players who can't hold their own. I will leave a lobby before the game starts if I stumble into three people queued up for Gold, with one rocking a level 8 soldier. But I won't kick a player just because I have doubts about what they can do.

In my book, prejudging and excluding strangers is far ruder than ignorantly joining a game you're not ready to join. Seriously, I can't be the only nerd around here who remembers what it was like to get ostracized off the kickball court as a kid.

You couldnt be more wrong. character level means nothing. i promote my Engineer class all the time and all i play is gold. Even at a level 1 in gold, i still finish the match as one of the top 2 players with the most points. N7 rating means alot. You have to use different characters to know there strengths and weeknesses and know who can survive gold. Not only that but you need increesed equipment capacity, which you only get after buying alot of 60k spectre packs. If your the last person left alive, that one extra rocket, or gel-pack, or survival pack can be the difference between winning and loosing.

It doesn't take much for 3 players to go down quickly playing gold, especially on an objective round. if one player makes a mistake and goes down, 2 more can easily go down trying to help out the first player. It doesn't take much.

I just did a Gold round with my Turian Soldier.

Using the N7 Hurricane as my primary and the Sabre as my armor-killing weapon.

People who say it sucks obviously have no recoil-handling skills!

That thing can kill a Geth hunter in like 3 seconds.

Low N7 ranks means exactly SQUAT. All it stands for is the level of your characters. I could be the best engineer player in the world but if the engineer was the only class I played, my N7 would be 20.

Does that make me a bad player?

Nope.

thats really not the point at all. you are kind of blaming the last man standing for failing. do you see the problem with that?

I would like to see evidence of this feat of a compleated gold match with a started level 1 Engineer.

i'll kick you because

you're less then N7 80
if i do not think you're weapon combinations don't suit your class
you're playing a weapons focused class under level 18 or a tech/biotic class under 15
->your class doesn't complement what we already have or wish to get<-

and this is why i rarely fail gold with pugs

That right there bugs me. I've seen the vote kick come up on me when I've joined a pug on my engie when the group already had an engie, or on my infiltrator because there was already an infiltrator. Some people have more than one high level class with more than one loadout, yo.

To the OP. Look at the first and last players. And who got the first place especially. The last one was level 6 too, just got 5 levels from a victory.

I wish I could hold up and the melee button like you.

To be totally honest, it sounds like you're more concerned with winning or looking like a total bad-ass (I bet you spam Nova as a Vanguard, don't you?) than having fun. Frankly, I'd rather lose with someone I enjoy playing with and talking to than win and have to listen to you moderate my performance the entire time.

Sure it makes sense to actually be prepared for the challenge you're about to undertake. Explaining to someone why you kicked them if they asked is all well and good, but to just come out and be like "oh fyi on why I'm booting your n00b ass" about stuff that no one cares or asked about does make you look like a fatheaded jerk.

has nothing to do with looking like a bad****. I play gold for the challange and for the credits.  If your not going to take it serious then play silver or bronze. i don't moderate anyones performance or talk trash. And i especially don't use vanguard because they have a hard time surviving in gold.

Jeezez.., I'm just starting silver and it goes well. Looking at this thread I realize that I will never try gold. I'm a decent player, maybe even good, but even I can die sometimes in Bronze. One wrong move and you are doomed. I have also have games that I can't do anything. My weapon doesn't do any damage and I can't revive or activate any devices. My teammate on those rounds must think I'm a retard standing beside them and don't revive them or missing every shot I make. That is somewhat frustrating. This is my first try at MP and I like it, but some aspects isn't fun and people that are dissing me because they "think" I'm bad is one of them.

No worries, there are some pretty damn smart monkeys...

You just have to know where to go. It takes forever but it is able to be done by 4 level 1's. (But you will need rockets)

I thought the Mass Effect community would be different from other multiplayer communities but I see elite ****s have invaded BSN. All this elite bs makes me sick.
Someone coming to the Mass Effect multiplayer to play with like minded fans of a great series get met with this stupid bull****.
I play with anyone unless they're an ass or ignorant. N7285 btw.

I'm generally a nice guy, very inclusive...

It seems like everytime I cut someone some slack for:
1. Being a low level
2. Being a low N7 level
3. Being a human vanguard
4. Having a bad load out.

I get burned =\\

I still feel bad for kicking someone who isn't obviously out of place.
