from all my years in gaming i found that Co-op brings out the worst when it comes to elitism. its probably because its more passive than competitive. in competitive its kind of easy to see who is good and who isnt. its a little harder to prove you are better than somebody else when you are on the same team so people try a little more than they should.

its sad, but thats the ugly side of Co-op. i still wouldnt trade it for PvP or competitive MP though.

I can no longer tolerate the elitism in the Bungie, 343i, and Epic games forums, I thought this forum was safe from this type of behavior. Now with the added MP, They are crawling out of everywhere and it is sad.

I don't know about this grab crap but I think you're missing the point. When you're pubbing you're playing a numbers and odds game. And odds are if someone's strolling in with a level 6 infiltrator they probably won't do that well.

i have seen more N7 level 1 players in the few gold lobbies i have started than the many silver lobbies i have started.

You know what's unfair? Making unfounded assumptions about what other players are capable of. I routinely play Gold with classes and weapons the "elite" around here are saying are worthless, and I consistently hold my own. 

Look, I totally understand the frustration of being matched up with random players who can't hold their own. I will leave a lobby before the game starts if I stumble into three people queued up for Gold, with one rocking a level 8 soldier. But I won't kick a player just because I have doubts about what they can do.

In my book, prejudging and excluding strangers is far ruder than ignorantly joining a game you're not ready to join. Seriously, I can't be the only nerd around here who remembers what it was like to get ostracized off the kickball court as a kid.

If I'm in a lobby with a friend and were looking for 2 random people to play with, I'm not leaving the lobby every time a player joins up who is not ready, just to spare there feelings. I try to explain to them why i think there not ready and if they don't respond or don't plug in a mic, i kick them. Simple as that. The game is pretty fair, it takes everyones vote to kick someone. But i always give them an explanation and a chance to leave willingly

You can't keep moving the goal posts. Everyone has been saying that a level 6 has no chance in gold. Two screen shots have been posted to show 'yes, they can'. Sure, its unlikely and I say that considering I've never personally been able to finish gold even as a level twenty. But that doesn't mean its completely impossible, or that the OP has any right to kick people just because he doesn't like their guns.

I played with friends and I was a lv. 12 Drell Adept who scored top (which means nothing when playing w/ friends since it's about biotic explosisons) on Gold Reapers and I never died.

N7 rating or lvl. means nothing.

You just need to get good.

You couldnt be more wrong. character level means nothing. i promote my Engineer class all the time and all i play is gold. Even at a level 1 in gold, i still finish the match as one of the top 2 players with the most points. N7 rating means alot. Not only that but you need increesed equipment capacity, which you only get after buying alot of 60k spectre packs. I did it today actually. I use a Salarian Engineer and spend my one and only point on decoy. I was second from the top in score at the end of that game and ranked up to a level 8. The next game i finished at the top in score and ranked up to a level 12. You just have to play it safe and have at least one other person on the team that is experienced.

If you look at my other post I stated that i play gold all the time with a level 1 engineer every time i promote that class. The N7 rating is what matters because it comes with experinece playing with different characters to know there strengths and weeknesses. You also need a few increeses in equipment capacity. character level means nothing, time played with all types of characters to know what works and what doesn't means alot.

i don't look at n7 rating much, I only care about what class they are using, what level the class is and what weapons they are using. I've beaten gold many times with people that had n7 ranks under 50, however the class they were using was always above 18 and they were using weapons that made sense on their class.

I'd rather have a n7 45, with a level 20 engineer only carrying a pistol, over some n7 200 playing adept with a avenger and a mantis or something equally dumb, I see so many people coming into gold with weapon setups that just don't make any sense for their class, and they are getting kicked. I will however give the low n7 levels a chance if it looks like they know what they are doing, maybe they just play 1 or 2 classes a lot.

too Noob to quote peeps on this even Point I would say is:
- If you set up a specific type game/goal you need the specific team type/build. That makes sense.
- Who else said it -' You need to Get good'....well,well... words of wisdom? Practice makes perfect...
- How the hell can you improve, or even know what is good if you can't get the chance to play with others?
- Gold sounds Haaaard.... I'm just tryin to learn the layouts and solo only can get to wave3 on bronze with a lv6 engineer (mentioned that before on pg.2 ....is that good??? no idea. compared to what? started playing could only last 15 secs initially - and OOOohhh the Joy, when it went wave 1 complete. Ha and now maybe, (happened 2wice) got to the 4th objective on wave 3....still only solo, still only lv6...still dyin...But goddammm might be easier with a teammate there too lol.
- But still would Love to Play more with others on this 1....And: where the Advice lists of builds, weapon choices for chars etc? THAT would improve everyones chance of getting the perfect 'play with me' team goin....no?
- rvr and pvp in what I played before (think DAOC) had peeps Helping noobs (or experienced noobs) to lv up a bit, get a foot in the door (again) sort of thing).
- Shame there is no 'Post your game requirements' in the MP...that might help too.

As before folks any offers, suggestions of when noob games are up and invites going let me know
I promise you boys and girls....when I get lv 20 and complete Bronze solo.....ehhhmm...I'll...might be in the silver forums lookin for help......BUT I will go back and open bronze games and then anyone can join.

High level? experienced? go to bronze once a week, relax ina glow of pwning ..take some low levels with ya, anyone - enjoy the game - and help/educate!.

you know if you select "any" skill it will sometimes randomly put you in a Gold game (that's what ANY means, it's a word, you can look it up).

also just because someone is level 8 doesn't mean they don't have another level 20 character, at least give them more then 3 seconds to switch chars.

or hey here's another thought USE VOICE AND ASK THEM TO SWITCH CHARS or leave.

Always possible to fail no matter what - but the experience can only make you stronger (if it doesn't kill ya!).
SO just postin as still feelin noob to all of this but just finished 6 waves with same engin was refering to before (now lv13)......alone. Multi player but playing solo....yes still on bronze.....jeeez, a chance please! .. aaand. s/shot below (I hope) but the stats were 25 tech kills, 50 kills, 5 grabs, 5 melee kills on wave 6. And that a first for me!

Now.
Where can you team with a team to just get a bit further on this???

When I read this, it sounded exactly like me.  When I have bad games where I just am standing in the wrong place and die, then someone saves me and they die.....and then I die again, I feel so guilty.   First time MP player also and I am really enjoying it too so maybe I will see you in Gold one day.  It will be a very long time until I'm there.

I join public lobbies and kick everyone and anyone who doesn't fit my exacting and highly specific rules of who, what, and how to play characters and loadouts. If I disapprove of your levels? Kick. Disapprove of your gear? Kick. Disapproved of your color scheme? Kick. Don't like how you've spelled your user name? Kick.

I kick so many players so often that I always end up soloing gold reapers with my Lvl 1 Human Soldier with an Avenger 1 cuz that's how elite I am.

I seriously did gold with a player who was really low N7 and was a level 8 Turian I belive and the others were like 3-5 level characters they quit but me and the level 8 Turian destroyed gold unfortunately we didnt make it ALL the way to the end but like wave 7-8?

i remembered playing gold with a bunch of nice guys?girls?whatever... they were all n7 >300, and i n7 18, level 18 infiltrator (yeah, first day playing),
well we kick reapers ass, and played few matches before i went to sleep, i managed to score 40k?, and only died 1-2 times without using medigels, they were nice not to let me die. that time i only have incisor sniper rifle, so yeah rating doesn't matter on gold... its skill that matters....
