If Colin likes his endings, theres a simple solution for him. Dont download the DLC. There your endings stay as they are.
That's about as effective as saying if you don't like the current ending, don't play.

Ha, this is like two 5 years olds going at with giant boxing gloves compared to what the Gears of War forum was like after the release.

Yeah, and Dillinger Escape Plan sucks. He can't even listen to music right.

He'll speak out a bit, only a bit, against Bioware, but when the video advert for the Mass Effect 3 DLC comes out, he'll either be singing praises, or be out of a job, I think. IGN.

These comments from people like IGN etc are starting to irritate me more than the ending.
On these forums we try and back these up with the figures we can get some polls on forums/FB but where are people like IGN getting this info from. Even BW havent done any massive fact finding themselves. Every notice how even the IGN FB poll wont allow us to see the results?
I know many peoples through active MMOs, non gaming websites and have quite a few RL friends that have completed ME3 and not one supports this ending and by going by this and forums I do not feel we are a minority but I would love to be proven wrong.
I challenge BW/IGN etc to actually show us these figures.

I love how he's upset because his ending might exist together with other ending, that somehow appears to ruin his experience. Of course, I understand, it's like gay wedding ruining straight wedding, makes total sense.
I wouldn't be surprised if he takes that stance on that as well. Not saying he does ... just that I wouldn't be surprised.

Colin Moriarty tweeted his "wisdom" about video game writers being dead or what not, so I tweeted "Thanks for the feedback, we'll pass this on to the developers!"
Hilarious thing is the ME twitter refuted him on his "points".
I laughed when I saw the pic. So funny.
Where is this? I would love to see it.
Someone posted it in another thread.
Don't have twitter myself so I can't point you to it.

One more thing. Lemme throw some science quotes here:
"When the number of committed opinion holders is below 10 percent, there is no visible progress in the spread of ideas. It would literally take the amount of time comparable to the age of the universe for this size group to reach the majority,"
"Once that number grows above 10 percent, the idea spreads like flame."
I say we are gaining ground, so we are atleast over 10% of those 2 millions who bought the game. 200k peoples. That's 'super minority' in your face Moriarty.

I just don't get that argument at all. Especially since we were promised multiple endings. Games have had multiple endings for a long time (Chrono Trigger?) and I've never heard anyone say "OMG! This is horrible, someone else got a different ending than me so my is invalidated even though I liked my ending."
Bad argument is bad.

am I the only one who watches these and can argue every point they make.
and I find it hard to believe they found NO ONE who supported Biowares decision. Complete bull
Not only that. Moriarty misses a point that is central, not to gaming, but to writing in general (I've had this issue before):
I've been working on a story with a friend and I had a couple things planned out. At some point, when we were going over various things (because we noticed that we needed to give it more direction and focus), he said that something was wrong with something one of 'my' main characters had experienced. It was important to me, defined the character (in my opinion), so I tried to find work-arounds. He kept pointing out ways why those wouldn't work and we got into a fight that lasted for a couple of days, discussing back and forth.
From a certain point onwards, I knew he was right, I knew it didn't make any sense, but I was too stubborn and proud to admit to a mistake I should have seen myself, something I should have known made no sense before anyone told me.
In the end, I swallowed my pride and gave in. And it was the right thing to do.
The morale here is: No matter how good you are at writing - If you come up with something that is **** and somebody points it out and gives various reasons why that is, why it cannot work and why you should scrap it entirely, listen. Being perfect at writing doesn't make you a perfect writer. Admitting to mistakes others point out because you didn't see them makes you a better writer AND a better person.
With that in mind, let me say this: Moriarty, shut your mouth. You have no idea what you're talking about.
Like that is gonna hurt the gaming industry. If anything, it will make people more vocal about the crap some companies try to sell us as games these days. And if I look at Call of Duty and company, that is the best thing that could possibly happen right now.

100% sure that Colin (one of those) will make a ragevideo when the DLC will come out
"This is an outrage Bioware!! Pleasing fif*coffcoffcough*thousand fans over us and other 74 reviewers! Shame on you!"
Ok, I don't normally indulge in this, but I have to let out this little bit of a flame...
If what's being said is true about them being in EA's pocket, the hilarious part will be that once DLC is released to correct the endings <fingers crossed> as EA supporters they'll have to come out saying that it's the best choice BioWare could have made and that the changes are wonderful. Oh man I really want to see that.

I respect his views, but he is misinformed (nicest way I can put it).
Changing ficiton is nothing new. Others have listed Fallout 3 and Prince of Persia. But what about films:
Star Wars
Lord of the Rings
Blade Runner
Donnie Darko
Metropolis
Apocalypse Now Redux
All of these films were changed after release.
Artists changing their work =/= Fan demands changing an artist's work
It's not a hard concept.
Then that means art is malleable?
I can paint a picture on a canvas and call it my art. Spend painstaking amount of time on it, but it ain't getting into an art gallery if no on likes it.

You think so? IGN helps people all the time just recently they held a tournament with Capcom to help promote their game giving out cash and prizes. IGN is big and well known within the gaming community, ofcourse being so big also means biggest hate as well, such with all things popular.
Funny thing is, no one is for Retake Movement but.... Angry Joe, Gamefront, and..........yeah that's it. Who's against Retake? everyone. Congrats, though, you cried yourself to FTC, BBB, Refunds, took control of forums, and wrote letters, did petitions, and got your voice out there.. pity its all for a video game ending lol and not something worth a damn.. like political movement, an election, to create a law, to save someone on death row etc
