Do you HAVE to choose the flirty option with Kelly to have dinner with her?

I chose the "I'd catch you" option, but all the guides I've seen have said you need to choose the "I'd embrace you" option.

Is it possible to to have dinner with her using that option? And how long would it take for the option to present itself?

I've noticed some conversation options were removed after recruiting Samara and grunt... Did I mess up? :s

I don't want to romance her, but I do want the dinner! Help!

I have the same problem as you. I found out in my Samara, Tali, and female Shep, play throughs, I didn't romance her and she won’t appear in ME3. I have to do ME2 all over again.

The safest bet is just: I'd embrace you -> I like flirting -> I could use a hug -> I won't  let him touch you -> your prettier->invite her to dinner -> rescue her -> talk to her post SM.

Well, at least I'm not the only person going back to replay ME2! Lol.

I'll just play it safe and use the flirty options until after our little dinner date~

I got the dinner date and all, yet after the 2nd collector mission, where TIM tricked me with the Turian signal crap, when I got back, she said I was her friend, did she put me in the friend zone!
