This deserves to stay on the first-page for weeks on end UNTIL Bioware replies!

This is simply crazy.

How the hell do you MAKE all these promises KNOWING your product doesn't live up to what you are telling your customers?

Don't think JohnnyG would mind. He's the main reason why I created this topic for this particular board.

I'd like to add the quote from David Silverman: "This is the first time that all three platforms have shipped at the
same time and it will be an amazing adventure whatever platform you play
it on. I don't think you'll see a difference between the Xbox version
and the PS3 version.
There's no drop in quality on either."

If anyone seriously wants to suggest to me that for quality the PS3 = 360 then I'd be more than happy to take them to task. Explanation please Bioware!

Interview with Casey Hudson (Director)
http://www.gameinfor...PostPageIndex=2

Interviewer:
[Regarding the numerous possible endings of Mass Effect 2] “Is that
same type of complexity built into the ending of Mass Effect 3?”

Hudson:
“Yeah, and I’d say much more so, because we have the ability to build
the endings out in a way that we don’t have to worry about eventually
tying them back together somewhere. This story arc is coming to an end
with this game. That means the endings can be a lot more different. At
this point we’re taking into account so many decisions that you’ve made
as a player and reflecting a lot of that stuff. It’s not even in any way
like the traditional game endings, where you can say how many endings
there are or whether you got ending A, B, or C.....The endings have a
lot more sophistication and variety in them.”

Now come on, you weren't actually supposed to pay attention to that, or make a note of it. If they can't expect to just get away with making statements like that, how do you expect them to sell their next sequal?

I can understand if they ended up with a lot of complexity and in reality it just fell short. We all know they had great plans - and did produce a really great game.

My only real complaint is that I wanted Shepard to have the option to win, and close his story out with as much of the squad and old friends as possible - including his love interest. For me the story is too dark the way they have it - after all of my time and effort I want to have the option for a bright ending - just like we had in ME1, or 2 where if I did the right things I got my peeps out alive.

This particular game is a similair story but on a truly epic scale. All it really needs as far as I am concerned is the option to interrupt the Starchild thingy and show him EDI/Joker as well as the Geth that are fighting for the cause. I united the Galaxy against the Reapers - I want to crush them. I want to have a final boss fight and then dictate the terms without suicide. If I crush Harby (and the rest of the Reapers) with my fleet, then Starchild is on no grounds at all to say or do much - excpet threaten to blow up the relay network. Since his trump card is actually bigger than the Queen of Diamonds, then its his way of providing control to prevent war between organics and synthetics. Then we call it a truce, and I go off into the sunset with my love interest.

As far as I am concerned, they delivered on nearly all but the ending - and more convo with the Starchild can clear up a lot of plotholes and fix that. I also realise that this isn't Burger King - I may not get it my way. But, to say they failed is not fair. if you looked at a tree schematic of every detail they originally had planned, you would see that it would take so long to make the game that they would never finish die to new game engines being produced and all of that - just like what happened with the Duke Nukem series.

Thank you, OP, for providing such a complete list. Not only BioWare's claims about the endings, but also those about multi-player not being required for full access to the endings (such as they are). As someone who plays entirely offline, I'm more than a little angry that I have no ability to get the 'best' ending (YMMV on the accuracy of 'best' as a description). I shouldn't have to pay money to Microsoft to buy a better conclusion, which is what the current high effective War Asset endings require.

Called Gamble out on it on Twitter, but he still hasn't responded accordingly. According to him, "Synthesis" is the optimal ending.

Synthesis is a unilateral decision by one individual to violate the free will and self-determination of every living thing in the galaxy. Oh yeah sure that's totally the "optimal" ending.

Short of the indoc theory or retconning the ending, or adding several new possible endings, the only way to resolve the false advertising is for BioWare to come out with a point blank apology about what they said, since they can't un-say it if they end up not doing one of the 3 things in this sentence.

For those of you who keep insulting we who want Bioware to deliver the product they promised, I would like you to go point-by-point through those quotes and tell us how they were given to us. If you cannot reasonably do that, then you either must admit we *were* lied to, or fall back on the weak argument of "Oh, that was *all* just marketing hyperbole & means nothing."

To Bioware- I would respectfully ask these claims be explained as well. It's not unreasonable for us to believe they were false. If they were NOT false, then please explain them to us.

This is prolly the main reason for the huge setback for bio in this ending scene.
There are more statements like this in game magasines etc everything to build up the hype and in the end screw the custumer over.
This is why so many of us are sad / pissed / annoyed.
Hopefully if this aint getting fixed this is why so many of us say by by bio. If we dont the leason will still not be learned and they will keep this up.
