Exactly.  There are two endings I wouldn't like for ME 3.  One being a random GOD LIKE force that saves the Galaxy or another being that to defeat the Reapers, everyone has to become a primitivst and destroy the Relays, Citadel, etc.  Both would make me pretty unhappy as those endings have been done to death.

They did a good job paying attention to the community then.

That's because those are standard cop-out endings that people use when they can't decide on a fitting ending. It's called Deus Ex Machina.

When the OP to that thread, it makes it even worse. I hope the Star-Child wasn't supposed to be the bad version of the beings of light.

Ha, no kidding.  Maybe that'll be the next PR strategy: "Oh, but the last time we listened to the community, we ended up with these endings!"

Yeah, but I still find it hilarious that these two exact scenarios were essentially mashed up into a ball of bad fiction.

I didn't think it needed saying, Obviously it does.

These kind of ending have been done to death and it wasn't satisfying the first time

2001 ended and i was like... space baby... can i have the last five hours of my life back?

Deus Ex ended and i was like... K?

when Human Revolution came out i was like "Well **** this ****!"

Did BioWare first set foot into these forums after Mass Effect 3 was released? Or was this where you got that idea from?

It's so ridiculous and sad I can't do anything but laugh. :D

Reading that thread is actually pretty funny in a sad way.

Except the Vorlons never saved the galaxy. They helped, but in the end they were no better than the Shadows.

That is true and anyway Bioware would have had to develop the "ancient" race for some time.  A quick appearance at the end would be terrible.  I am all for the idea of the current sentient races finding a way to defeat  the Reapers on their own, without having to end galactic civlization OR rely on ancient God aliens.

As they fly in they yell "Deus Ex Machina!"

The fact that someone can sum up the ending of a trilogy in about two sentences before the ending even comes out is just sad. I was expecting an ending that would take a couple pages to even explain on paper, just because of all the little nods and references to everything my Shepard had done on his journey, all of which I expected to culminate into one final triumph for Commander Shepard. Boy was I wrong.
