So.. let me get this straight...

Beings of light... that protect organics from synthetics... by using synthetics to kill the organics?

LOL

You guys call the indoctrination theory stupid. Holy hell.

That's because those are standard cop-out endings that people use when they can't decide on a fitting ending. It's called Deus Ex Machina.

It's a bit more complex than that, but the real sentiment is correct. It was totally predictable (actually, worse: it was even WORSE than cliche and predictable in a bad way) because it was the standard copout "makes no sense"/lazy ending.

If he said the entire ending would be rounded up in 14 lines of dialogue he could have got a triple prediction.

So, instead of being the second coming of Nostradamus, he'd be...

This is neither prediction nor forshadowing, and if Bioware really thought it is, then they should go back to story writing school or whatever you call it.

This just shows how unimaginative, predictable and cliched these "artsy" endings really are.

So, so sad.

Exactly.  There are two endings I wouldn't like for ME 3.  One being a random GOD LIKE force that saves the Galaxy or another being that to defeat the Reapers, everyone has to become a primitivst and destroy the Relays, Citadel, etc.  Both would make me pretty unhappy as those endings have been done to death.

Thoughts?

HO...LY....SH*T...

Wow, just wow, that is just.....wow..

I hope they are happy ripping some poor fan off to come up with a badly delivered ending that very few even 'claim' to like... *Slow Clap* I can only hope they make this right and make a new ending/ heavly extended via the use of the IT.  Because now it is really a cop-out, even if you liked the end...<_<

Except the Vorlons never saved the galaxy. They helped, but in the end they were no better than the Shadows.

That
is true and anyway Bioware would have had to develop the "ancient" race
for some time.  A quick appearance at the end would be terrible.  I am
all for the idea of the current sentient races finding a way to defeat
the Reapers on their own, without having to end galactic civlization
OR rely on ancient God aliens
.

Good news, kid. You got both.

"Please, no Battlestar Galactica 'return to simple ways' ending..." Oh, screwoffreg... if only we'd known, we would've yelled this along with you... :(

Man, the Klencory thing even sounds really fascinating. Wish they'd stuck with their own lore as inspiration instead of making the Helios ending the good one when it doesn't fit or have the same positive effect at all.

God, I hope Indoc is right.

Wow. So screw is the one that gave them the idea. They're like, "Hey this one guy thinks these two endings would suck, and he's right, but about if we COMBINE them?" "Oh yes, that's a great idea, let's do that."

Aaaaaand that's why rampant fan speculation is fun. There's always someone who successfully predicts the way the medium will move, even if it will move into failure.

Someone, give that guy a retroactive medal!

Of the countless options they could have chosen to end the game, they seemed to pick the one that would enrage the most people.
