I Ladder line is a bit wearing, but I love her comment when I stealth. That's just pure Win!

from memory...?

"And thus I cloak my villainy in shadow"

I've gone with the violent option. It is a bit obnoxious as well as breaking the third wall, but he only says it occasionally.

my favorite as well.

It's not difficult to avoid the constant repeats of that line. . . .just don't mash the attack button like a rabid squirrel.

Yeah, my dwarf warrior used that line all the time, and I always wanted to smack him and be like "It'd be more like a footstool. Jerk!"

I love the line.

What's really needed are a greater number of lines so that the chances of this particular line being chosen is lessened.

I missed the option to choose a voice when I created my character. Unfortunately I've been stuck with the default one through 100+ hours of gameplay. My guy is a badass human warrior with a huge black beard who runs into every battle proclaiming "There is no honor in bloodshed!" in this high, whiny voice as he lops heads off left and right.

I'd have recreated my character at the beginning, but I just assumed it was Alistair acting like a wuss. By the time I realized it was my guy, I'd already sunk too many hours in to turn back.

YES!, this! This so very much!

I wouldn't hate, and I'd probably even like, the ladder line if it wasn't so bloody common. My character using the voice is a Rogue, so when I have to enter a room and unlock chests and loot corpses etc., I may have to click several items in fairly fast succession. This causes the 'saying it, then interrupting to say it again, then interrupting again to say it again' issue I've had a few times now. THAT is what caused me to hate the ladderspam line. Indeed, if there were a greater number of lines, or this one line had a reduced chance to be fired off, I'd be completely happy with it ...and would probably LAUGH when the line actually did play! I remember laughing the first time I heard it, and wanting to hear it again... and oh boy do I regret thinking that now.

I still an awesome voice set, I love the voice itself and despite being reduced to absolute hatred for the ladderspam, I wouldn't change my character's voice- other than that, it fits my mental image of her so much.  So great for a Rogue! I just obviously have a serious issue with the propensity of using that one particular line.  :pinched:

i wonder if simply putting a blank .wav file with the right file name for this particular interjection would work (i had to turn minsc into a mute and did this with ALL of his sound files). if my curiosity exceeds my laziness, i'll post my findings.

I actually laughed the first time I heard the ladder comment. I'm still playing with that voice and enjoy it. I always picked the female voice in NWN2 that said "blood makes the grass grow".

I take the ladder comment as a joke, never been bothered by it so far :D

I picked this voice and deleted the character. It's not the phrase itself so much that bothers me, but how repetitive it became in just an hour or two of play.

I'm tempted to restart my second rogue (dwarf this time) because she says this almost every time I tell her to do something. Too bad, because aside from that annoyance, the "violent" voice is perfect for her.

I regret picking the Violent voice files too, still, level 15 now, might as well ride it out.

I looked for a mod to change the "violent" voiceover before deleting my level 7 rogue. I just couldn't take it anymore...

My 2nd character is a female noble human rogue with the violent voice. I actually find it hilarious everytime she says this, no way I'll ever delete her. All the lines of the violent female are awesome.

"And thus I cloak my naked villainy."

I like: "A little backstabbing never hurt anyone."

I made a female human rogue with that voice too. I enjoyed it, but I did get sick of the ladder line sometimes.

Played through with that voice, but it seemed to suit my char, since she was a rogue, and she didn't say that particular line that often. Perhaps some people are hearing it a lot if they are pressing "A" repeatedly in battle. If you do this, your char will talk more, but you only have to press "A" once per enemy, and your char will keep attacking :)

DAY 3

Think someone is watching us, maybe .... controlling us. Keep hearing these noises, far-off in the air above us.

Click-click, Click ..... and when it happens... well, i do things i don't want to. Those orphans didn't need to die, one minute i was just talking to Leliana about shoes and then, the clicking noise and ..... it all went white.

Next thing i know i'm waking up and.... ive killed them, not just killed them but chopped them up and i ...... i think i ate some of the meat.

But i didnt mean to I SWEAR.... like i said, somethings controlling us.

A old-god, a demon ? Am i going mad ?

DAY 4

Tried to talk to it again today, tried to ask it what it was, what it wanted..... wasnt a good idea.

A great voice throbbed out of the ether, seemed to shake the very earth, Sten shat himself in fear.

WTF BIOWARE ! .....it proclaimed and then was silent, a brooding malevolence.

Obviously this intelligence does not come from this plane of existence or else it did not care whether we understood it at all .... are simply tools

Its language was none i ever read of in the library of the circle.

Nothing i could understand.

The air pulsed with the aftershock of it's anger and the smell of Stens breeches was making me retch but i tried again

"Do you want me to get a ladder so" i started, but it ......hurt... me then.

We cant let it just ...... USE us !

It "possessed" me again, ran me into a wall, stripped Morrigan naked and ..... shook her, like a ragdoll.

DAY 5

Something is happening today..... Goodbye.

Everything around us is fading, bleaching out.

Like the world, or this portion of it is ... ending.

We were just about to leave Lothering when the sickness overcame us.

Feels like im breaking apart, into the dust the maker used to create us.

When i hold my hands up to the light i can see through them.

I think this is his punishment for our sin, hes .... un-making us, everything.

He spoke again today, i like to think it's the maker, quietly.

The voice spoke, gently, with a kind of resignation...... like a warm wind around me, us.

LETS TRY THAT AGAIN ......

and then it was gone.... not long now for me too, can't quite remember who i am, nothing beyond yesterday. The light is getting brighter now, goodbye cruel ...............

BEEEEEEEP !

Save game deleted.

I'm on my laptop so I can't give details, but you can change your character's voice. It's saved in an XML file in your saved game folder (found in My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age).
