Well today seems to have been the end of the retake movement.  People are moving on and it seems that we will get extened versions of the three endings but not more then that.  So now that it is over and done with do you think in the end it was worth it?

I say yes for two reasons even though we didn't get what a lot of us really wanted.

1)we raised a lot of money to help sick kids.

and

2) despite the fact that not much was won because of the media attention I am pretty sure game makers will be a lot more careful in future about what they say about their games.

What do you think?

I think it was worth, like you said, we raised loads of money for sick kids and we got Bioware to understand some of our points.

Most of us stayed civil despite ridiculous levels of immaturity from the gaming media too.

I find it a little sad that the only reason you raised money for sick kids was because you hated a video game ending.

If the ending was perfectly fine, would these kids have still gotten all your money?

Sure, but it's not over. Activity is still super high.

And the picket signs will come back out if the news in April is bad.

Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it, which is why I am certain Bioware will not make this mistake twice... so long as you remind them on occasion of this debacle. Know that you have made an impact, even if it cannot be seen in the here and now.

What do you mean, "was"? ;)

To answer your question, though, yes, I think it's worth it. At least we helped a great cause.

Edit: ninja'd. A lot.

The Retake movement isn't over until the DLC is released and it fixes the ending.. simple as that.

Retake failed horribly. There messaging was weak; they are nothing more than a vocal minority:social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/355/index/9870213/1

With no momentum, and the industry agaisnt them. And the Backlash/backlash really gaining stride it's time to retake to fade into the wind....

We raised over 75,000 for sick kids.

At the end of the day, that's more important than fixed endings.

(Though Bioware, if you're really looking to fix endings.......you know, keep on that.)

It's far from over silly. Posted Image

Are you the person that got up and left the theater while watching "Aliens" when Ripley / Bishop / Newt and Hicks all escaped the nuclear explosion on the planet?

"*whew* good movie!"

You missed some of the best parts leaving so soon. Posted Image

Hold the line!

was worth it? Do you have any information we didn't get? There is a vague statement for us to wait till April when perhaps something might be announced under the right circumstances... So I don't think anything is over yet.

Was? I'm waiting to see what actually happens before I decide to quit. The announcement is a welcome change of message from Bioware, though. I am hopeful they will make it right.

Your logic is ridiculous. You can't possibly be berating somebody for donating to charity? What does the reason matter?

I think it is done. it's pretty much dieing tonight. I will be very surprised if the facebook page grow any more or if there is anyone left tomorrow who isn't happy with how things turned out. i think pretty much everyone has just decided to settle for whatever bone bioware throws us.

As i said I think it was worth it but since all we are getting are extended versions of the endings that make me depressed I think i will be removing the ME games from my computer and i will not be buying bioware games again. I'll stick with companies that don't let me down.

Thanks for holding the line and doing as much good as we did but I think everyone has given up and is done now so there really is no point in holding the line any more.

Thanks again for doing so much good.
