Hold the line, without proper confirmation why have we stopped?

It's not over yet. Until there's official announcement stating that there's New Endings DLC then we'll be done. "Game content initiatives"? Could they possibly be more vague and non-specific?

Over? That implies I trust bioware to follow through. Do I really need to link to the wall o lies page again?

Okay I am man enough to admit when I am wrong.  I thought everyone was moving on but it looks like most people are still going to hold out for these things.  Okay thank you for holding the line people and if all Bioware does is release extended versions of the endings we have now I would ask you not to buy them because I can't think of anything that would send a stronger message about what we are really fighting for.  Again thank you for ignoring the spin and holding the line.

Thank you for your time.

Thanks for not being like Bioware, where they can't admit when they're wrong.

What did we get? More blatent PR rubbish? Extending the ending was NOT what we wanted, we wanted different endings or the indoctrination theory, the endings are terrible as they are and you know it. Hold the damn line until Bioware really listens.

We have not got what we wanted. Putting aside the fact that Bioware's word is worth less then a treaty we made with the Indians there is also the fact that the reason we didn't like the endings in the first place was that they didn't reflect our choices or our characters, how does making the same endings longer change that? The outcome is still the same, Please continue to hold the line for as long as it takes to get what we have been fighting for.

Please check out this group and join in.

to be fair i havent played the game since the endings which was 4 days ago and dont plan too untill i know for sure that my choices will matter and that the game lives upto what was told pre release so no its far from over. its never been us against them and we move on when they say they'll sort it, its always been about them delivering what was told beforehand.

I don't know about this Retake movement, I'm not a member of it, though I share their concerns.

For me, this isn't over until I've gotten a honest response from BioWare & a proper ending.

I think the result was great but some parties could've been more professional about the entire thing. With regards to the charity, its good the children are getting aid but using charities to further personal goals is kind of low to me.

I think it's worth it for one reason alone:

The tendency of both Bioware and the gaming media was to marginalize the scale and legitimacy of the backlash.

RetakeME3 was a well-organized, constructive platform to make sure the extent of the problem was recognized and addressed.

Now of course, Retake wants more than just recognition - but this was a very important first step.

Totally worth it.

Sorry, but you got something and that was a confirmation, that you will get more infos regarding the endings in april.

If these infos suck, you can start pressing again.

I find it a little sad that the only reason you raised money for sick kids was because you hated a video game ending.

If the ending was perfectly fine, would these kids have still gotten all your money?

Whereas, you didn't raise money for sick kids at all.

So shut up.

Yet another example of how intolerant and violent some of the individuals in this movement are.  If you like the endings, disagree with their motives, etc you're automatically a dickbag in their eyes.  I agree with you Simpfan.

The money I donated was the money I would otherwise have spent on ME DLC. It came directly out of my gaming budget. Nothing to do with other charitable donations or work I do. It really misses the point to argue that it wouldn't have gone to charity if circumstances were different. Do you donate 100% of your disposable income? The hypocrisy is not ours.

As for the argument that we are using the charity to press a point and that is somewhat distasteful... there is a tiny hint of a point there, but meh. It is more constructive than any alternative I can think of, and there is no denying that it's a good cause. It's unfortunate that the nature of corporation-consumer relations require this kind of mess to make any progress.

I agree, any charitable donation is a good thing to do.  Using it to further a goal however is somewhat distasteful.  Hell I'm happy for the kids that benefit from this.  All I'm saying is using something like this to push something entirely unrelated to the charity in order to get what we want and make ourselves look good in the eye of the public is mehh.  We criticise politicians, businessmen, etc who commit similar acts.

Even though I disagree with the goals of the movement(to change ME3 ending) I think a ton of positive things have come from this movement. Most importantly it has brought attention to the failure of Gaming media to properly do their jobs. The mischaracterization of the RetakeME3 movement by various websites is quite revealing, and the movement has exposed some unethical reviewing practices too. So good job guys! Even if you didn't get exactly what you wanted you definitely had some positive impact in the industry. Plus the charity donations are nice too.

Now Skyhawk02 right above brought up a great point. We made a lot of game reviewers look like idiots because some backtracked their initial (and sometimes incomplete) statements.

The "movement" has yet to achieve it's goals, but it is achieving some very important milestones in the wider industry as Skyhawk02 points out.

Diversity is the spice of life, and once again it is proved here. No matter what Bioware does, some people will be disappointed, so Bioware has said they will maintain and enhance the artistic integrity, while still (hopefully) addressing many of the issues.

The "movement" isn't over. It's now onto a new phase.
