So do you think the retake movement was worth it?

Okay I am man enough to admit when I am wrong. I thought everyone was moving on but it looks like most people are still going to hold out for these things. Okay thank you for holding the line people and if all Bioware does is release extended versions of the endings we have now I would ask you not to buy them because I can't think of anything that would send a stronger message about what we are really fighting for. Again thank you for ignoring the spin and holding the line.
Thank you for your time.
Thanks for not being like Bioware, where they can't admit when they're wrong.

What did we get? More blatent PR rubbish? Extending the ending was NOT what we wanted, we wanted different endings or the indoctrination theory, the endings are terrible as they are and you know it. Hold the damn line until Bioware really listens.

For me, this isn't over until I've gotten a honest response from BioWare & a proper ending.

The tendency of both Bioware and the gaming media was to marginalize the scale and legitimacy of the backlash.
RetakeME3 was a well-organized, constructive platform to make sure the extent of the problem was recognized and addressed.
Now of course, Retake wants more than just recognition - but this was a very important first step.
Totally worth it.

I find it a little sad that the only reason you raised money for sick kids was because you hated a video game ending.
If the ending was perfectly fine, would these kids have still gotten all your money?
So shut up.

Yet another example of how intolerant and violent some of the individuals in this movement are. If you like the endings, disagree with their motives, etc you're automatically a dickbag in their eyes. I agree with you Simpfan.

As for the argument that we are using the charity to press a point and that is somewhat distasteful... there is a tiny hint of a point there, but meh. It is more constructive than any alternative I can think of, and there is no denying that it's a good cause. It's unfortunate that the nature of corporation-consumer relations require this kind of mess to make any progress.

The money I donated was the money I would otherwise have spent on ME DLC. It came directly out of my gaming budget. Nothing to do with other charitable donations or work I do. It really misses the point to argue that it wouldn't have gone to charity if circumstances were different. Do you donate 100% of your disposable income? The hypocrisy is not ours.

I agree, any charitable donation is a good thing to do. Using it to further a goal however is somewhat distasteful. Hell I'm happy for the kids that benefit from this. All I'm saying is using something like this to push something entirely unrelated to the charity in order to get what we want and make ourselves look good in the eye of the public is mehh. We criticise politicians, businessmen, etc who commit similar acts.

Diversity is the spice of life, and once again it is proved here. No matter what Bioware does, some people will be disappointed, so Bioware has said they will maintain and enhance the artistic integrity, while still (hopefully) addressing many of the issues.
The "movement" isn't over. It's now onto a new phase.
