The "movement" has yet to achieve it's goals, but it is achieving some very important milestones in the wider industry as Skyhawk02 points out.

Diversity is the spice of life, and once again it is proved here. No matter what Bioware does, some people will be disappointed, so Bioware has said they will maintain and enhance the artistic integrity, while still (hopefully) addressing many of the issues.

The "movement" isn't over. It's now onto a new phase.

Hopefully with a little less aggression by some individuals towards bioware employees, people who enjoyed the current ending and people who don't agree with some of the movement's points.

I find it a little sad that the only reason you raised money for sick kids was because you hated a video game ending.

If the ending was perfectly fine, would these kids have still gotten all your money?

Whereas, you didn't raise money for sick kids at all.

So shut up.

Yet another example of how intolerant and violent some of the individuals in this movement are.  If you like the endings, disagree with their motives, etc you're automatically a dickbag in their eyes.  I agree with you Simpfan.

Actually this is an example of how desperate the anti-Retake people are to paint us in a negative way. You're undermining 75,000 dollars given to charity because you say it wouldn't have been given if not for the bad endings.

Why don't you show us all the right way to do it and donate all of your money to charity right now with no motive? Put your money where your mouth is, or sit down and be quiet.

We gave a bunch of money to charity, doesn't matter why we did it. We did it. Did you?

I am not sure if this is quite over yet, but I would agree that it has been worth it thus far.

Agreed.

This is why I didn't formally join the "movement".

I made a post detailing my opinions a few hours ago. Good luck finding it if you're interested. ;)

I didn't have a clue this charity existed before this whole thing... But I usually donate money to charity anyways, so if I knew about it then yes, I would donate regardless. No idea about other people tho.

Donate all my money?  You donated every bit of your income to charity?  Now why did it take something you didn't like to get you to donate?  So long as people keep doing stuff you don't want you'll throw money at it to change it? I donate all the time, every year since I've joined the military.  I've never done it to further my own agenda, never done it in the hopes of receiving anything in return and as my tax return would show you, I sure as hell didn't do it for a rebate.

The money would not have been given if not for bad endings.  You denying that is ridiculous.

There should be less aggression, definitely. The line between passion and aggression gets blurred a lot and that's a shame.

I think it's a perfect storm where a lot of people's frustration with unanswerable corporations and a sense of impotence in general has boiled over in a place where they think they have the most chance to effect change. It's interesting that Shepard's ultimate recognition of something he couldn't change has triggered so many people to campaign so vigorously! "I don't believe in no-win situations", indeed!

S1at3, might want to back away from that before you're sucked into the very actions you were complaining about...

Also, here: http://social.biowar...5789/1#10445789

I'm not done untill I see the DLC pack or whatever they launch on XboxLive. Anyway this will be worth it, not only for us but for the child and for an industry that has just realised that their consumers have a voice.

For now it deffinatly was worth it:

1) The money for ChildsPlay.
2) Almost all major media outlets say that BW rewrite/change the ending.

If they fool us again, we'll be back!^^

Ultimately, we'll see in April or maybe after that.

However, it is worth it for people who have bought a product to stand up and be counted? Whatever Bioware does, yes.

I do think some people are being way too negative and trying to dissect every statement from Bioware. We know now that we will hear something in April and thats a marked improvement from where we stood before. In the meantime, the forum needs to be level headed, make sure they remind Bioware they haven't gone away but be civilsed and constructive.

yes.. I dont think we are done tho.... Bioware has stated that this was there intended ending... meaning... yeah..

And that's what they're sticking to. It's up to them to direct the future of their franchise. Feedback only shapes how they will do it.

I want the ending changed but honestly I don't know what I want out of it. I don't want anything drastic. Get rid of the star child's poor attempt at logic (although the damage is already burned into the back of my mind). and elaborate some more on the consequences of Shepard's actions. Oh and the Normandy randomly crash landing on some strange planet with a team member I was on earth with... Yeah... That needs to go away or get addressed.

The question would be: IS it worth it? And the answer would be yes. No matter how things play out, standing up for something you believe in is always worth it.

Hold the line!
