Pre ME 3 there was a company that existed.  They created games that actually allowed role playing choices.  KOTOR was a game changer literally.  WE the fans told everyone about it, we helped spread the word the best we could.  We told people for the first time you decide if you are good or bad and you make choices that mattered.

We received more of the same in KOTOR II, Jade Empire, ME, and then DA:O.  In DA:O all of our choices gave us a unique ending and we found out how all of our choices mattered.  DA:O set the new bar for Bioware.  ME promised to surpass even that bar.  We were encouraged when we played ME 2 and made choices that actually killed or saved the characters we cared about.  Every decision we had to make we stressed over for fear and worry over what might happen.  Were we right?  That is a massive emotional investment on our part.  It was so intense many of us replayed ME 1 and ME 2 many times to get our "real" choices down.

ME 3 was announced and it was promising to be bigger and better.  We were specifially told we would have all of these different endings based on all of our small choices.  They said it would be wrong and crazy to dumb down the end and give us 3 generic endings that every received.  Based on Bioware's past games we believed them.  Why wouldn't we?  All of their previous work was giving us more and more choices, minus DA 2.  We were very excited to see how the end was effected by saving or killing the Rachni queen, or curing the Krogans, or saving the Geth, and many many other choices.

We were the ground troops of Bioware for all of their games prior to ME 3.  We are the ones that gave our money, our time, and our loyalty to Bioware for their efforts.  We spread the word and increased Biowares value and income.  We were proud to see it grow and grow, for selfish reasons of course.  We knew it meant we were going to get more and more of what we wanted.  Turns out we were wrong.  We never saw it coming, but we were wrong.

Now that we have made our displeasure clear the unthinkable has happened.  Not only has Bioware not apologized to us, not only have they not admitted they lost their way, not only do they not admit we were tricked with their inaccurate advertising, they decide to belittle us.  No need to bring all that up again.  They say we are a vocal minority, they imply we don't know what we are talking about and throw bough and paid for critic reviews in our face, and say we're sorry you don't like our game but we do.

If you would have told me Bioware was capable of this before ME 3, I would have brought up all of the past games I loved as evidence that it couldn't happen.  I would have said "No way.  Bioware makes games the gamer wants and puts them in control of their own story."  In short we have been utterly and totally betrayed.

I can't tell you why others are holding the line, but I can tell you why I HOLD THE LINE.  EGO can strike anyone at any time.  It's happened throughout history.  Someone becomes famous and they think it's all their own doing, that they did it.  They think they can do whatever they want because they are the superstars.  They look down on all of the people that actually got them there.  They forget that they are nothing and nobody without their paying fans.  This is the attitude that has been prevalent in the response from Bioware.

The simple truth Bioware is we the consumer made you, we are why you exist.  Without us buying your stuff NONE of you would be there.  Everything you have is because of us and you don't respect us anymore.  Now you claim you are artists and imply you do what you want and if we don't like it we are spoiled and entitled, as your attack dog websites keep saying.

Simply put Bioware, you've turned your back on the people that made you what you are.  What made you what you are today was doing what we wanted, making what we wanted, and that's why we bought your products.  Sadly, it seems the only way we can remind you of who you work for is to HOLD THE LINE!  We had to make a big enough stink to cause others to notice what you've done.  Many of us will no longer give you any $$$ unless you fix it and many of us realize that all of this is probably costing you ME 3 sales and future sales.  We can remove our pillars of support that built you up as high as you are, and you give us no choice.

None of us wanted to HOLD THE LINE.  Not a one.  If you look at your history Bioware you will see we were always on your side.  We didn't go to the other side, you left OUR SIDE.  We the old fans didn't change you did.  We don't want to be here, we don't want to be doing this.  We didn't ask for this, but we will rise to the challenge.  We will be the face in the mirror reminding you of what you promised and then how you broke that promise.  We the "little minority" as you love to belittle us with, aren't going anywhere.

So, you have to choices and only 2 choices.  Go back to the company you were that realizes we the fans/customers are your boss and fix this mess.  Or keep thinking you are the untouchable super star that can do whatever you want with your "art".  One of those choices will make you more money and regain you some fans, the other one will cost you fans and money $$$.  Until, you decide we will be here HOLDING THE LINE!

What is your Legacy and future going to be Bioware?  It's now time we provide you with a choice to make.  You are in our game.  I'm sure you don't like only getting 2 choices.  Now that the shoe is on the other I bet you don't like the limited choices, but they are the only ones you get.  Make your choice.
